"Your girlfriend has a good sense of humour."
Ren sighed, there was no use in arguing with Gorya. She might as well announce it on national TV.
"And here I thought you would introduce her to me first."
They spun around to see Thyme standing behind them.
Gorya ran for a hug. It was a good five minutes before they looked up from each other.
Thyme shrugged nonchalantly and took a step forward. "I only came here to check on my dear friend's poor social life. It seems you have already done that for me." He grinned at Ren as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper with something scribbled on it.
"MJ sends a message."
Despite their protests, Ren knew he had to leave them alone — in each other's company. That is what Ren would do. His character remained the same despite how he felt. Gorya always came first.
Slapping a high five with Thyme, he hung his laptop bag over his left shoulder and exited the hall.
"REVIVE" he entered the text location into the GPS. Passing a view of windswept trees and the ocean, the car arrived at the center for digital addiction.
In the days following his graduation, he had decided to open a rehab center for Internet addicts.
It has been a while since he came here. Men, women, rich, poor, the rehab center is filled with all kinds of people - a mixed atmosphere. While he was talking to the director of the program, a frantic-looking father grabbed his hands.
"My son went missing. Maybe an accident happened or..." his face filled with pure fear.
A nurse rushed to the elder's side but Ren signed to her.
Ren firmly placed a hand on his shoulder in a bid to calm him down.
"Can I have a name and a description, sir?" "Archit Wan. A-R-C-H-I-T. He's 12, just over four feet tall. He was here, admitted here."
It took a while before they found him hiding under a patient's bed. The boy had spent his childhood addicted to a game. A few hours a day of Warcraft had turned into an obsession.
"I don't want to go to school. I hate them, the boys, the girls, everyone. They tease me all the time."
Ren motioned for the nurse to take him to the ward.
"You should think of this as part of the process. A part of recovery." Ren said handing over a glass of water to the parents seated in his office.
"You can enroll him in the Restart Life Program. We check on him every night. And we would help him find a school or place he can restart his life."
