Words are the strongest weapon known to man, yet we allow other to interfere with ours, to change their meanings. We learn others words, changing them to fit with our intentions.
We are taught to play, reuse and change the words of others, making their weapons ours.
But maybe 'weapon' is the wrong word to use. Because there are still words that ring positively in our ears.
Of course we can take the bullets out of guns, but we cannot replace its meaning with flowers.
A weapon will always be a weapon, feared by man, no matter if filled with flowers, bullets or just air.
However words, as harsh or as kind as they might be, the way they're said can give them a meaning, so different from the one they had originally.
We can say hate so lovingly, taking out the bad, replacing it with good. We can say love, making it feel like a punch in the gut.
Words are never just words. But a gun will always be a gun. If you see one, you know what to expect, but in a conversation you don't know the meaning of the word until it is already too late.
