"You look wonderful, Areum-ah!" Mrs Ahn exclaimed as she held two pairs of wedding shoes. The said detective chuckled nervously and checked herself in the mirror.

The detective's mother had invited Heeseung's mother to join the gown-fitting session and of course, Mrs Lee had to bring Mrs Ahn with her since they were both best friends. This meant that Daeun had to come along.

"Daeun, look at this! You would love this," Mrs Lee showed the said girl a pair of shoes. Daeun smiled and let out a tired sigh secretly. She walked around the boutique and checked a few dresses out.

Suddenly, a wedding gown caught her attention. She held the lace while staring at it in awe.

"You like that?" Areum appeared behind her. She jumped in surprise and held her chest, "Oh," she chuckled nervously, "It's nothing."

"It is pretty. Do you want to try it?"

"No. It's your day. And I'm just looking at it."

Areum smiled, "I'm fine if you want to try it. Every girl must be dreaming of wearing one."

Daeun shook her head, "I'm fine. Let's go find you some accessories," she held the detective's hand and brought her to the jewellery section.

A few hours passed and the gown-fitting session ended. Daeun frowned as she walked to a restaurant while linking her arm with her mother's. She could see her father sitting at a table with her enemy's family.

Aunt Yeongja and Bina sat next to each other while her father was sitting next to his brother. "Can we not have dinner with them?" She asked her mother.

Mrs Ahn sighed, "As much as I'd like to run away, I can't. Your father would be very disappointed if he finds out his wife and daughter ran away and left him."

Daeun gave her mother a whiny look, making Mrs Ahn smile and ruffling her hair. They both entered the restaurant and heard a pianist playing a calming melody on the stage.

There were sounds of champagne glasses clinking and sounds of people laughing with their loved ones. The peaceful atmosphere made Daeun smile but the smile soon faded when they reached their table.

"There you are!" Mr Ahn immediately stood up and kissed his wife's cheek. He then pulled a chair for his daughter to sit on, then his wife's.

Daeun tried to suppress the curse words from coming out of her mouth since she realised she was sitting across from Bina.

"Do you know that Lee's son is getting married?" Mr Ahn spoke.

"Really? I haven't seen him for so long! Am I invited?"

"Of course! Lee told me to invite your family too. I'm sure he'll invite us for a beer after the wedding to celebrate," her father continued and they both laughed like old men.

Seeing Bina in school is torture enough and now I have to see her at the wedding too?

Daeun scowled and kept her eyes on her glass of water. She looked around the restaurant and saw a couple laughing with each other as they talked about random things.

They both then stood up to leave but what caught her attention was how the man wrapped his girlfriend — or maybe wife, with his coat.

The memories of Sunghoon wrapping his coat around her and asking her whether she was alright under the rain appeared in her mind. She smiled to herself and thought about it over and over again.

His gentle but firm hands held her to make sure she was alright and warm. She looked at Bina and noticed the girl staring at her for a while. Aunt Yeongja noticed them glaring at each other and spoke up, "Ahn Daeun, have you found a boyfriend, yet?"

"She'll find one when she's ready," Mrs Ahn jumped in and glared at her.

"She has one. Park Sunghoon," Bina spat and folded her arms. Aunt Yeongja gasped, "The one that you've liked for years?!"

"What else can I do? Daeun sure likes to copy me. She even stole my crush," the daughter answered back. Daeun's father looked at his own daughter, "Is that true, Daeun?"

"Yes, dad."

"Good to know that," her uncle said as he grinned happily.
