Daeun exhaled heavily and turned to the side. She felt Sunghoon's space on the bed empty and opened her eyes slowly, confused and curious about where he was. She looked at her clothes that were being laid on the couch nicely.
Sunghoon had tidied up the room for her and made sure her clothes were nice and clean. A smile crept up on her face as she examined the room. She got off the bed and put on a bathrobe before leaving the room.
"Sunghoon?" She called. "Yeah?" He answered from the balcony. He was also in his bathrobe, preparing breakfast for her on a table. She made her way to the balcony and saw the pancakes and fruits that he prepared.
"I'm sure you're still tired. Since you've done so much for me last night, I'll make sure that you relax for today," he sweetly said before sitting across from her.
The memories from last night came flooding into her mind. She stared at her food with startled eyes after realising what she did with him.
Oh, God.
"Is there anything wrong? Is the food not to your liking?"
"No!" She assured him, "It's just that–"
"You remembered last night, huh?" He smirked mischievously. Daeun smacked him out of embarrassment before silently feeding herself the pancakes.
They both walked to the lobby with their arms linked to each other. "I'll go to the reception counter first. You sit here," he said before leaving her in the lounge area.
She examined the whole place before sitting on the couch. "Ms Ahn?" A voice called her out of the blue. She stood up and turned around to face the person, "Yes?"
Her heart dropped at the sight of Sunghoon's mother standing in front of her. The woman smiled, "I can't believe it, the president's daughter standing in front of me."
The smile on Daeun's face faded, replaced with a small frown. Just when Sunghoon was about to cheer up, his mother came to ruin it. She forced out a smile at the woman, "Pleasure to meet you. If you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be."
"Wait!" The woman held her arm. Daeun pushed it away gently, "What is it?"
"I need to talk to you. About Sunghoon."
Daeun hesitantly glanced at her lover who was still at the counter. "If we talk fast, you can go to him early," his mom convinced her and led her to a more secluded area.
They both stood in the hallway where people rarely go there. Daeun tightened her hand around her handbag and waited for the woman to talk.
"Can you convince him to forgive me?"
The woman's words made her scoff. Daeun gave her a death stare, "You are one selfish woman. Why can't you tell him to do that by yourself?"
"I'm having a hard time currently. I don't have enough money to buy myself food and all. Please, I really need him to help me–"
"I thought you have my uncle to provide for you. You appeared in our lives, giving burden to us and now you can just ask for money without feeling embarrassed? Don't you realise you're ruining my cousin's family?"
"Sunghoon is not yours," her uncle's mistress said, starting to feel annoyed, "He is mine. I gave birth to him. No matter how much he wanted to stay away from me, he will always come back to me."
"Years and years of you not being in his life and you suddenly came asking for help? Do you think he will help you? If you need help, ask my uncle for it. I do not like you coming to us and ruining his life. I hope this is the last time we meet. Goodbye," Daeun said before storming away from her.
She went back to the lounge and saw Sunghoon reading a magazine. She sighed in relief and put on a bright smile. He noticed her coming and smiled back, "Where were you?"
"Do you know that they have a small waterfall in the garden? I went to go see it."
"Was it beautiful?"
She hummed in response before hugging his arm. "Let's go. The helicopter will arrive any minute now."

"Right there. That feels good," Areum sighed as she relaxed on the couch. Heeseung let out a small laugh as he continued to massage her foot. "My wife has worked hard. Good job."
They both giggled and enjoyed each other's company when the doorbell suddenly rang. "I'll go get it," he said before getting off the couch. He went to open the door and saw Edlyn and Jake standing with their children in their arms.
Jiah motioned for Jake to put her down and sprinted into the house to hug her aunt. "How have you been?" Areum asked as she tightly hugged the kid. Heeseung stood to the side to let the couple in and took Jihoon from Edlyn's arms.
"He has gotten so big!" He exclaimed in awe as he carried the child.
"What brings you here?" Areum asked curiously, occupied with Jiah on her lap, showing her the book that she read.
"Jiah misses you and suggested meeting you. So we thought, why not? And also, we're planning to go on a trip to my parent's beach house this weekend. I'm planning to invite Daeun too if she's okay with it," Edlyn said as she sat next to the detective.
"What about the kids?" Heeseung asked, kissing the little boy's head. He loved to smell the baby's scent since it reminded him that he was going to have a child of his own.
"My parents offered to take care of them. And it'll be fun since they're planning to stay in Seoul for a while. They'll take the kids on a trip and take them sightseeing around the city," Jake explained and went to the kitchen to drink some water.
"Okay then! We're going on a trip!"
