Daeun lay on her bed with her eyes still open. She turned to her side and watched as the raindrops fell against the window. The building lights were greeting her as they brightened the city. The moon stood perfectly still in the sky with stars twinkling next to it.

She flinched when a thunder made a soft sound. She sighed heavily and sat up straight before rummaging through her drawer next to the bed. She took out a few sleeping pills and gulped them in one go. She then gulped down the bottle of water next to her and exhaled heavily.

I still can't sleep.

She frowned and jumped off the bed before storming to the kitchen. She took out a bottle of sleeping pills before placing it on the kitchen island. She then poured herself a small glass of hard liquor and drank it with the pills.

"Don't ever eat these pills with alcohol."

Her mother's words played in her mind. She chuckled and poured herself another glass of the liquor. She groaned in pain as she felt her throat burning. She coughed continuously and slammed the glass down.

Sunghoon drank his wine as he stood in front of the window, watching as the raindrops fell slowly against it.

It's raining now. Is it bothering Daeun? I wonder.

He placed his glass down on the small table and went to the entrance door but stopped when he was about to open it.

Why do I want to go there? What reason do I have?

He pulled his hand away from the doorknob and leaned against the door. "So what if I want to go to her house? I want to know if she's fine or not."

Whatever.

He instantly opened the door and widened his eyes when he saw her opening her door as well. Daeun looked at him with startled eyes.

"Are you okay?" He asked in his soft voice. She shook her head, "I can't sleep."

He nodded and they both stayed silent before she spoke up, "Do you want to come over for tea?"

Edlyn walked back and forth as she folded her arms. Her mind was filled with questions about the possibilities and conclusions. Jake who was reading on the bed slammed his book close, "Honey, I can't focus if you keep walking like that. It's been 30 minutes."

"Wanna know what I saw a few days ago? It keeps bothering me. It's about Sunghoon," she answered. He narrowed his eyes at her, "What about him?"

"So I went to the medical school to send something to Jay. It was raining so I waited in the car for a while. Then, I saw this girl dragging another girl out of the building. I didn't know what happened. I guess the girls were arguing."

"Then! Sunghoon came running out of the building with an umbrella and held it above the girl that was dragged. Then, he put his coat on the girl and held both of her shoulders."

"Is it one of his girlfriends?" Jake asked again. Edlyn frowned, "I guess so. But he looked so manly and handsome. I mean, I've never seen him like that before. I think he genuinely likes her!"

He fixed his posture as he started to feel excited. "Do you remember what she looks like?"

"I don't think so. It was raining heavily so I only saw him and the girl's clothes."

"I'll make sure to watch Sunghoon closely whenever I'm at the school."

"Please do," she smiled and leaned her head against his shoulder. He kissed her head and was about to read his book again before someone knocked on their bedroom door.

Jiah opened the door while rubbing her eyes sleepily, "Mom, Jihoon keeps crying."

Edlyn immediately jumped out of the bed and rushed toward her son's bedroom, "How can I not hear that? Sorry, Jiah."

Jake got off the bed and held both of his daughter's shoulders, "Let's get you to bed, sweetie."

Sunghoon sipped his tea before putting the teacup down. He rested both of his hands on the kitchen island and watched as Daeun also put her teacup down.

"Are you also invited to Heeseung's wedding?" He asked. "Of course. His family and my family are close friends," she answered.

The awkward tension was killing them both. Was it because of the kiss they had to fake in front of Doyun? They both wondered. Or was it when she saw him kissing another student in his office? Daeun asked herself.

"I can't stand this," she frowned and rubbed her temple. He watched as she walked to stand directly in front of him.

"We can't keep being awkward to each other. We've put on a show in front of everyone and I even lied to my family that I'm dating you. So with you standing quietly like a statue and me stuttering, it will make us both look like fools."

"You told your family?" It was Sunghoon's turn to frown. "I had to! Bina was provoking me."

They both sat in the living room, sitting across from each other. Daeun placed two papers and said, "Write the rules when we're doing this fake-dating thing. And I'll write mine."

They both stayed silent for a while since both were too focused on writing their rules and requirements. After a while, she sighed and handed him his paper. Sunghoon then handed her his paper.

Sunghoon's:

Anything that Daeun writes.

"Seriously? Are you sure?" She asked as she handed him the paper back. The male doctor nodded, "I don't know what to write. It's not me who initiated this fake-dating relationship anyway."

He then lowered his gaze to the Daeun's paper and read it.

Daeun's:

• Always greet each other whenever we meet in the hallways or anywhere.
• Park Sunghoon will drive Ahn Daeun to school every day (except when he has to work at the hospital)
• Park Sunghoon and Ahn Daeun will kiss each other at least once every day to make this relationship look more natural.
• Park Sunghoon and Ahn Daeun will call each other sweet names to avoid people from feeling suspicious.
• This relationship will go on for five months. Then, Park Sunghoon and Ahn Daeun are free to part ways and date whomever they want.

Sunghoon frowned at the third rule, "Are you serious? Kissing? Every day?"

"Of course, we need to practice. The kiss in front of Doyun before was too awkward. Thank God he doesn't feel suspicious."

She examined his expression and scoffed, "Yah, I'm a good kisser. You don't have to be so worried."

"I'm also a good kisser. I'm quite experienced too."

She scoffed and rolled her eyes, "Now you're showing your true colours."

"Trust me, sweetheart. There's more that you don't know about me."

She blushed at his comment and threw a pillow at him, "Go. It's getting late."

He winced in pain and smirked, somehow feeling proud that he got to make her blush.
