You slammed the books along with six pages of scribbled notes and calculations onto his damn desk.Your chest heaved and your hair looked a mess but you didn't care.
"I've finished..everything"
You managed to whisper to him and all he did was set his pencil down and slowly took in your work.A puzzled expression on his face.

"Everything?"
He asked.

"E-Everything"
You responded.

Toji slowly opened up your book and checked each and every sum thoroughly.The painful silence was as loud as drums to your ears.The only thing that could be heard was the slow ticking of the clock against the wall.
"Well.."

He checked your calculations and a small frown pulled on his face.His long fingers ran over the pages and stopped right at the edge.His bottom lip caught between his teeth as he brought his head up and sat back.
"Adequate work Ms [Last Name]"

A large smile plastered itself onto your face as you jumped up and punched the air.
"In your big fat face!yes!"
You had sat up the entire night with this one,did your calculation in bed,while you had your morning breakfast,wrote down every possible formula on the misty shower door and while walking to school with Nobaru,it had clicked.

You had never ran that fast your entire life-well other than the anime opening event at the mall two summers ago but that's a story for another time.You ran three blocks and a large staircase just to have him review your work.In his big fucking fat face.

"4.1 is wrong though,the answer is 10"

Your victory dance came to a abrupt stop as you snapped your head to him.It was as if the drums and celebratory music that played in the background of your mind,fell limp and immediately stopped.A deep frown filled your face as you leaned forward and gave him a ugly stare.
"What!?"

He hissed and pulled a face.
"You messed up at the intervals.Each equation must be done separately then added.If you do so,you'll reach the answer of 10.The only reason why you,Ms [Last Name] reached 3 as an answer,is because you treated the entire equation as one..not separate"

"C'mon mahn!you're not gonna give me credit for at least trying"

"That was not trying,that was you writing down any calculation that you thought made sense"

"But I thought-"

"You thought wrong [Last Name]"

You groaned and stomped your foot.He was making an issue out of one little equation and he wouldn't even give you some sort of credit for it.

"This is not just one little equation,this is something that costs an entire 8 marks in the exam.If you fuck up,you fail"

Can he read my mind
You pulled a face.

"No I can't read minds but I can read facial expressions"

You groaned again and scoffed,grabbing your books again.The correct calculation was written beside your own,only in Toji's handwriting.
"You want my credit?"

"Something to at least prove that I am capable of reaching your standard"

He hummed and slowly stood up with a exasperating sigh.Walking toward the board,Toji picked up the chalk and with slow movement,he wrote down an equation that seemed ever lasting.
"Solve this equation and you'll get my credit"

Your face turned a slow pale,staring at something you barely understood.Toji walked toward his classroom door and shut it with a soft thud.You had Mei Mei first period,English,but right now you didn't care.
"I have an admin period first thing this morning,you have till then to finish"

Mei Mei could wait,English could wait.You were being challenged by none other than Toji Fushiguro and you would prove to him that you were much more than just a 12th grader.Taking the chalk into your hands you slowly walked toward the board and allowed everything the man to your left ever taught you,to flow through that head of yours.

"I've been trying to figure this one out for two days,lend me your knowledge and I'll lend you mine"
He turned toward the board and picked up his own piece of chalk,glaring at the damn equation that mocked at him.

"You sure I can do this"

"Stop doubting yourself [Last Name],it'll be your downfall"
