Stella panted heavily, light headed and now feeling faint she tried to come back to her sense. It was no use. Her feral instincts came back to her.

She was hiding in an alley, away from the others and away from Rain. She was ashamed of what she had done. She had let her demonic corruption take over for just a moment. But that moment almost cost the life of one of her closest friends.

How could I do this? She thought to herself

Slumped against the dirty wall in the alley she tried to compose herself again. She was regaining control, for now.

She felt cold all of a sudden. She felt lonely and vulnerable like if she needed protection. She thought of the warm embraces her friend would give her and she yearned for them. She yearned for his affection and his gentle nature. He was so kind and so caring that it hurt her to her core knowing what she did.

"Stella!' A voice cried out

She knew who it was almost immediately. But she hung her head low.

Its no use in thinking about going back. You're just going to cause another problem. Haven't you caused enough problems today? She thought to herself angrily

In between that anger was sadness. She couldn't shake the thought away. She needed to be back with her friends. She just wasn't made to be alone. She depended so much on the care of her friends just as much as her friends depended on her.

She smiled briefly at the thought of them, together and happy at that. The smiled faded when she remembered why she was here in the first place.

But they'll accept me wont they? I would never purposely cause them pain, they know that right? Right? She sighed. She couldn't even convince herself.

"Stella, where are you? Stop hiding from me, we know it was a mistake. We don't blame you. Just come back and we'll have a talk and sort this out"

There he was again. Those words brought her comfort. She knew she could rely on her friends even in her darkest time. If she couldn't, were they really friends?

She carefully got up and slowly walked out from her hiding spot. She looked around until she saw him.

"Rain?" She asked cautiously

Without saying a word he rushed over to her. His arms pulling her into an embrace she didn't fight against.

"Are you alright, hurt?" Rain asked concerned

"I'm ok. But you..?" She said seeing the claw marks on his chest.

"Don't worry about me. I'm tougher than I look" He said with a playful smile. "C'mon lets go. No need to linger on the past" and with that the issue seemed forgotten.

She smiled as they walked back to the bastion together. She was happy to know she had friends she could rely on. Friends who cared about her no matter what happened.  That was something for her to smile about.
