I didn't notice that I already fell asleep after last night's commotion with Ms. Marcos. Sun rays was obvious against the coarsest fabric of a tent. I was about to straighten my body when I felt something heavy on my waist, a porcelain arm comfortably sitting around me. It was Ms. Irene's arm. Holy mother.

"Mhm.." She hummed while unconsciously pull me closer to her. I swear to creatures, I would be dead right now if she wake up with this position. What on earth is happening? Despite of my panic, I tried my best to remove her arm but I couldn't. It was tight and she might wake up if I forcely remove it.

Is she still in a deep sleep? I could hear the murmuring voices from the outside. Her body against my back felt so warm and comforting, I know I'm safe when I'm with her but then I suddenly remember what happened last night. She doesn't like me at all, and I should know that. I still have self- respect and not to force things to happen, no matter how I want it.

I took a relief breathe when I successfully removed her arm and glanced at her. She's too good to be true, I must admit.

"Bruha!" I could hear Cath exclaimed when she saw me sitting at the wooden chair while drinking my coffee.

" Have some kahihiyan naman, Catherine." I rolled my eyes but she just laughed. "Ms. G told us na mas mauuna ka daw umuwi today, why?" She enthused and put her palm under her chin.

"I'm not feeling well." I reasoned out. This place seems small for the both of us, I wanna get out and find some peace.

"Hindi 'yun ang nakikita ko e." She scrutinized me and narrow her eyes.

"Singkit ka kasi." I joked, she grunted. "Racism ba ito or what?" She jokingly said and slowly turned her expression to jolly to serious.

"I know you so well, Ariella. Stop lying. Something happened ba?" She asked, I shook my head. I want to deal with things by my own for now. There is no use telling them and later on confuse myself what would I do next.

"Nothing happened, Cath. Tell Margaret my goodbye, aalis narin kami after this coffee." I uttered and check my bag, she just nodded.

"Take care and get well soon, I know you're lying for telling me nothing happened but I won't force you to the things you're not comfortable sharing with." She smiled and hug my side. It feels good to have people around who completely understand you even when you're like a book who barely open by its owner.

"Nah." I chuckled and finally bid my goodbye.

^^

Days passed and seems like I starting to learn how to not to give too much attention, except only when I'm in her class. I kept my company with my friends and more often with myself. It feels right but there's something missing I couldn't figure out. I sigh at the thought and spot Margaret walking closer to my table.

"Our prom will be on next week. Who's your date?" She wiggled her eyebrows and sit beside me, I cringe at the word she used date.

"Ikaw nalang siguro.." I chuckled, tangled my arm on hers and put my head on her shoulder. She playfully slap my arm, " you talk like you have no other choice ano? Bakit parang labag pa sa kalooban mo?" I could sense the sarcasm on her voice.

"Hindi naman. It's just that, Cath's crush will be her date at wala ka pa naman..so I was thinking if you can be my date." I look at her, still tangling my arm on her.

"Why don't you ask Ms. Marcos?" She whispered, careful not to hear by other students and a playful smirk curved on her lips.

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms, "Baliw. I would never do that." I coldly uttered and turned my gaze outside the window.

"Uy, I'm just kidding. Catherine told me she sense something wrong between you and Ms Marcos. LQ kayo?" She talk in a low and a teasing tone.

"If you are crushing with someone, it will just disappear like a bubble in the water and like a smoke in the air. It won't stay, so just like mine." I spin the pen in my fingers and patiently waiting for the bell to ring.

"Ay, lubog na pala ang barko.." She devastatedly uttered and put her hand on her cheeks. I sigh and keep silent.

The bell already ring and our General Biology teacher, which is Ms. Marcos, entered the room. She saw how Margaret kiss my cheek as what she always do when she left my table. Her aura was dark and her expression is like a language I do not understand. I care less of whatever she is thinking. She already put an end between me and her the night in the camp.

The class went smoothly, she barely look at me and I'm totally fine with it. Margaret glanced at me and wink, Ms. Marcos saw it that made her expression changed. What was that?

After our morning class, Maggie went to my table while I'm fixing my stuff.

"Wanna grab some food at the canteen? I'm hungry." Margaret held her stomach and pout her lips. I took a side look of Ms. Marcos who just diverted her gaze on her papers.

"Sure. Have you seen Catherine?" I asked and finally close my bag, she just shook her head no. Maybe she's doing something important.

"What do you want? I should treat my prom date, special." She giggled and slid her arm on my waist as we walk to the door.

"Shut your beautiful face, I'm your date for a reason." I jokingly fired back. We sounds like flirting than having a normal conversation as friends.

"Goodbye, Ms. Marcos." Margaret turned around when we reached the door and politely smiled at her, but we just received a cold glance. I could see how her hand tightly grip on her ballpen.

"Let's go." I whispered and we finally left the classroom.
