I couldn't hide my nervousness while looking for the right dress to wear for tonight's dinner to meet Luis' parents. My fingers run down to my now straight and brunette hair as the anxiety can't stop attacking me.

"What if wag nalang tayong tumuloy?" I muttered, ridiculously as it sounds.

"Babe, they won't look for your appearance," he assured and took a seat beside me, "what important to them is what kind of person you are, and how do you take care of their only son," he said and playfully winks at me.

I sigh, "are you intimately close with your parents?" I carefully asked as if something risky about it.

"Well, not really," he weakly smiled, "but I know to myself that they love me, enough for me not to think that they're not that delinquent parents who hates by their child," I nodded.

"You're a good man, and I am hundred percent sure that your parents raised a wonderful and kind person," I said.

We talked a lot about his parents before we decided that we really have to go before the time tick to 8:30p.m.

The whole ride was comfortably quiet until Luis pulled over in front of a huge and fenceless mansion. The design was very modern-classic, and the two expensive cars were parked at the side which I think  belongs to his parents.

"Don't be nervous, okay? They won't bite you," Luis tried to calm me down but it is just made me feel more uneasy.

"Wow, very helpful, babe. Thanks." I sarcastically said and tilted my head to have another look of the mansion. I was about to open the car door but Luis did it for me. Is he a relative of Flash? or what.

He held my back as we walk through the thick and tall double door of a mansion. I tightened my grip to my coat and wait him to knock on the door.

After a seconds of waiting, a young filipina opened it wearing her maid attire, "good evening, sir Luis, nag- aantay na po si sir at ma'am sa loob," she says in a very filipino accent.

"Thanks, Anna. This is Ariella, my girlfriend," Luis introduced, the young woman bowed a little as I genuinely smiled at her.

As soon as we step in, a warm surroundings greeted us together with the capacious living room. There's a long staircase with a red carpet in the middle and a thick black railings. The shiny chandelier dangling at the center of a tall ceilings made a yellowish lights that illuminating every vicinities of a room. It was expensive if you want me to describe it in one word. I was expecting a american design of his parents' house but base on what I am seeing right now is like that people might think a royal family is living here. A pleasant smell of a typical rich people's house satisfy my sense of smell, plus the valuable paintings hanging on the wall and most of them were familiar to me as I know very well its painter.

Luis helped me to remove my coat and hook it on in my arm.

"Luis," a manly voice made us turned around in unison. My feet froze when I saw who it was. I could feel the blood drained from my face as he was the same man from that restaurant eight years ago. I took one step back in surprise causing Luis to look at me, worriedly. This can't be, he can't be the father of Luis and his mother cannot be her. I probably don't know what to do if ever she appeared in this place. Goodness, just no. And the fact that she wasn't just the woman in my past, but she was my fucking ex- girlfriend. What Luis will feel if he figured out that I was his mother's ex? That I- we did something? Well shit, it doesn't matter and I don't think I have to tell it to him. Of course, it matters to me. Stupid me. Angels have mercy on me, I am not one of those strong army you would want to send on war.
