I sat gently pushing my little fabric through the sewing machine making sure to keep it straight I heard the phone downstairs but thought little of it,
"Little spider!" my dad calls from the bottom of the stairwell
"Yes!" I yelled back
"Benny's on the phone for you!"
"Thank you" I smiled grabbing my phone "Hello Mr watts. to what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I won!"
"what?" I asked
"I won! I beat his dumb fucking ass!"
"So your-"
"Us Chess champion!"
"aaaaahhhhh! Benny that's amazing! I'm so proud of you!" I smiled
"Its great, I got the prize money did all the press stuff"
"I shall have to pick up a chess review soon then" I smiled
"How's stuff gone with you?"
"Uhhhh... well. I've been suspended for two weeks"
"you what?"
"Suspended. for two weeks. I am on day three"
"I've only been gone a month what fucking happened!"

"things where said. things where done. tears where faked. and the story ends with me being suspended from school for two weeks and betty doesn't even have to do any coursework for three weeks"
"fucking hell" He sighed "well at least your okay"
"yeah I'm fine working on a new dress"
"Ohhh? well at least your not hurt or feeling bad about it" he says "I uhh.... I miss you"
"what?" I giggled
"I miss you"
"I miss you too benny" I smiled
"I ummm I need to tell you something?"
"what is it?"
"I uhh I'm coming home on Tuesday, but I won't be here long"
"why not?"
"well given I'm now US champion I have to go to the paris championship"
"Your going to paris!"
"Yeah just for a couple of days so I won't actually be coming back to school until after paris"
"You are coming home though right?"
"Yeah for... two days."
"aww well at least I'll get to see you"
"well... as we only have two days maybe, you and me could go out somewhere, together?"
"together?"
"Just me and you. Maybe go see a movie or something?"
"yeah I'd like that" I smiled trying not to blush
"you can go whever you want but you have to have her back before elven benny" I heard another voice on the line
"Erica!" I complained
"just checking in dear"
"Get off the line erica" I told her "anyway. yeah that sounds nice"
"Yeah, and I'll see you when I'm home them" he smiled
"Yeah when your home, bye"
"bye."
