As I walked through the doors, a song I vaguely remembered from one of my foster sisters' CDs started playing in my head. Something about being fifteen and your first day of high school or something. I think it was on a fearless CD from like Taylor someone.
I looked at my schedule after being picked out of like a thousand teenagers to go through the metal detector. I rolled my eyes as I nonchalantly stepped through the big door like thing called a metal detector. Even thoughtm they barely resembled the real ones in the airports.
I finally found my homeroom and walked through the door into a classroom that was bigger than the last school I remembered. I took a seat in the first empty seat I saw next to a nice looking redhead girl. I took out The Maze Runner and started reading where I left off on the bus. To my dismay, though, Mike didn't come in my class, even after the bell rang to go to our first period. I gathered my stuff and went to find Mr Bailey's English class. I sat down and the redhead from homeroom came and sat down next to me. Again, I pulled out my book but before I opened it to read it, she started saying something. "Hi, I'm Abigale. What's your name??" "Cassie, nice to meet you." " I have this goal, you see, to make at least ten new friends by the second day. Its my first time here, would you be my friend??" "Oh thats neat!!" I should have that goal too. "Sure I'll be your friend."
