chapter 13: the meaning of life and suspicious activity

"I need about fifteen dollars Ms Carmen. We're going to the park to fly kites but we need some." "Oh well I'll just drive you guys to the store and getcha some!" "That was sarcastic wasnt it?" "Why, yes!! We have a winner over here!! Give her a prize!!" Seriously?? "Ok. Lemme try again: hey Ms Carmen, may I have about fifteen dollars to buy kites for Isaac and I to go kite flying tomorrow??" "No. Just kidding. Grab a twenty and walk to Walgreen's." "Yay!! Thank you!! We'll be back soon. C'MON ISAAC!!" I grabbed a twenty and a ten and some change and then sneakily got a five, called Isaac again. After he came down stairs, I grabbed my tumbler filled with chocolate milk and we headed out the door.
"I don't remember what she looked like. She dashed off right after. I think she had blonde hair though." "So, you didn't tell her off or say what the heck or any of that?? God I have to teach you to do that." "No! Why would I do that?!?" "To show her she can't mess with you!! Ok. Act civilized. We're here."
We walled through the door of Walgreen's and headed immediately to the kite section. Isaac ended up picking one shaped like a plane after having a tough choice between that and cool 3d rectangle. I got the 3d rectangle, a pack of bubbles, some chips, and a pack of gum for each of us and checked out. As we headed home, we ate the doritos and talked about the meaning of life. Isaac said it's to keep the circle of life going but I said it was to eat ice cream cake and drive go carts. He finally agreed I was right as we came to a stop in front of the front door. I heard Ms Carmen talking on the phone so I told Isaac to shut up as we quietly sneaked back into the house.
"Marsha, I am aware that its suspicious, but I am gonna be extra careful to--" "MS CARMEN, WE'RE HOME!!" "Yes so the tomatoes I grew a few years back never grew -- that's right! Never. -- yes, I looked online but nobody else had this problem. Oh well, I think the children are home so I must go. -- yes, yes. I'll miss you too, Martha. -- OK. -- alright-- OK bye darling."
Nice going Isaac. I was trying to find out what suspicious thing they were talking about. I think she said Marsha which is our grandma's name. Very interesting... Interesting indeed.
