"Ma'am can you tell us where the back to school supply lists are??" Ms Carmen asked the target lady. "Yes, they're all the way in the back with all the supplies. There avoid be a tall cardboard box with slits in it holding papers and those should be the supply lists." "Thank you very graciously m'dear." God Ms Carmen could you be any stranger?? Isaac ran to the back of the store looking for his supply list: Malcolm middle school, while I chased him looking for mine: Quincy high school. I cannot tell you how excited and nervous I was for school. And it was starting in just a few weeks!!! I found the list and started searching for Isaac's. "Sorry sport, I can't seem to find--- THERE IT IS!!!" I looked over his first helping him find what he needed before I even glanced at mine he needed quite a bit of stuff for being only in sixth grade: pencils, paper (wide ruled), a binder, a notebook for each of his six classes, a pencil bag, ti36 calculator, and colored pencils and then we picked some more stuff for his locker and cool things like folders and stickers. Our excuse for getting them: "we need to get cool stuff now to replace all the things didn't get then." While we were picking his pencil bag out I had a sudden realization: this kid has never gone to school before. This year would be the first time he'd ever go to school. That's when I made it my mission to be extra good this time with Ms Carmen so she'll keep us at least until the school year's end.

Next, we proceeded to get my supplies: first we got paper and pencils, ya know, the usual stuff, then I picked out some cool folders and binders and notebooks. I also got this cute fuzzy pencil pouch and a few magnets for my locker. As we were picking out my stuff I was wondering if I'd ever be able to have friends who I trusted. I wondered what my classes and teachers would be like. We made sure to thank Ms Carmen a million times over as we checked out and on the drive home. She said it was no big deal but in our eyes, it was a huge deal.
