Lavender Trees

Lavender trees, whose purple tears

frozen upon their boughs,

thaw in warm spring melodies,

basking in yellow glow.

Risen out of amethyst pools,

white buds like diamonds mined from starlight

open when sunlight kissed,

revealing in bursts their hidden color

and sweet fragrance carried on the backs of bees.

Their beauty beheld and cherished, but always fleeting,

relenting to the call of Time,

returning to the ancient garden

betwixt the Earth

and the resting place of forever.
