I walked through another food aisle, but needed nothing. Cameron was looking for water bottles nearby, so I decided to just look around while I was waiting.
I bet a lot of you are wondering...what was it like after you almost kissed yesterday? Was it awkward?
To answer your questions, no. It wasn't awkward, just kind of silent. We haven't talked about it, not saying that I want to either. What's there to talk about it? Yes, we almost kissed, but we didn't, so I have nothing else to say. Do I have feelings for him? It's complicated. There's no other way to put that. Sometimes I feel like I just want to make out with his gorgeous face, but other times, I just want to be able to talk like friends. Do I wonder what kissing him would feel like? Hell yes! It's the only thing I've been able to think about, except I still can't process what actually happened. How does Cameron feel about it? Who knows...he hasn't mentioned it once, so I have no idea what's going on in that adorable little head of his.
I stretched my hand out and scanned a box of crackers with my fingertips. Suddenly, at least five boxes fell to the ground and I jumped back. I groaned, not in the mood to bend down and pick them up.
"Here, let me help you." I looked next to me, expecting Cameron, but instead, a guy about three years older walked towards me. I politely smiled, as he bent down to pick up my mess. He was wearing a thick leather jacket and blue jeans. He had hiker boots, which complimented his face very well may I add. He had bright blue eyes, light stubble along his chin, and puffy lips. He looked like a guy who could beat your ass in a second if you messed with him. I bit my lip to avoid saying anything embarrassing.
"Thank you." I squeaked when he placed the final box back on the shelf.
"It's no problem at all. I'm Peyton." He held out his hand, which I gladly shook. He was much taller than me, but then again, who isn't? I'm pretty sure he wasn't as tall as Cameron though. Cameron...oh shoot. This is gonna look pretty suspicious when he comes to find me.
"I'm Blaise." I cleared my throat, casually searching for Cameron over his shoulder.
"I wanted to approach you, so it's a good thing you knocked those crackers down." Immediately, my eyes went back to him. He wanted to approach me? Meaning he wanted to talk to me? Why? Who would do that without being forced? Maybe he was forced...or maybe this is a joke.
"Did Cameron put you up to this? Where is he? Cameron! I know you-"
"What? No! I thought you seemed interesting and I wanted to introduce myself...but you have a boyfriend, so I'm gonna leave now." He turned to leave, but I grabbed his jacket.
"Cameron's not my boyfriend. We just live together. That's all." I blurted out. Did I really mean that? Were Cameron and I just roommates? That's one question I couldn't truthfully answer.
"Oh. Sorry, all my girlfriends cheated on me, so I'm not looking for a girl who's involved with other guys, but since you don't have a boyfriend, can I-"
"Blaise...who's this?" I see Cameron found me.
"Cameron, hi. This is Peyton. I just met him." Cameron glared at Peyton very angrily. This could turn into a gorilla brawl if I didn't stop it.
"Is he bothering you?" Cameron stepped to my side, as if to protect me from non existing danger. I shook my head fast though, hopefully to ensure there was nothing going on. Peyton scoffed like he was annoyed with Cameron.
"Listen, dude. You're not her boyfriend, so lay off. She can talk to whoever she wants, unless you actually have a certificate that claims she's yours. There's nothing wrong with me talking to a beautiful girl, who I may want to have a future with." Slow your roll, Peyton. He seems like a nice guy, but bringing future into this is not a suggestion.
"Don't you dare call her beautiful! You're not allowed to. Do you understand me? Are we clear right now?" Cameron gently shoved Peyton back. Please, gentlemen, there's no need to get physical. We are all mature enough to walk away.
"Why not? It's not like you're gonna stop me! There's nothing you can do! I did nothing wrong, except talk to her. You're not her boyfriend, dude! Let her live her life!"
"Yeah, you think her life is gonna be spent with you? News flash, she doesn't even know you! Leave her alone!" Cameron looked like he would explode any moment. Peyton seemed calm, but one wrong move and all the tables would turn.
"Guys, stop! This is so stupid!" Everyone looked at me, "can we just go?" I mumbled to Cameron. He nodded, took my hand, and walked away without the food.

"Immature, Cameron, get a hold of yourself." I said, as we drove away from the store.
"He was an asshole! He needed to be taught a lesson." Cameron frustratingly yelled. Lets hope his very anger self won't get us into a car accident...
"You didn't even meet him!"
"He was way to old for you! He wasn't good enough!"
"No ones good enough, Cameron! You say that about every guy I think is cute!" Cameron stayed silent. I wasn't lying though. Whenever I even mention another guy being cute, he gets all...jealous. Wait a minute. Is Cameron jealous? He never seemed like the jealous type, but that's exactly how he was acting right now.
"Cameron...are you jealous?" I impulsively blurted out. I wish I could rephrase that.
"Why do you care?" My eyes shot up at him.
"Just tell me." I'm not stopping now! There's no going back!
"You know what? Yeah, Blaise, I am. I tried controlling it, but do you know how hard that is? It's impossible! Seeing you with other guys gives me this horrible feeling. It hurts, and I don't know why. Normally, I'm a professional heartbreaker. I remember I gave you my business card when we first met. Except now...you're breaking my heart. I hate the roles being reversed, cause it sucks. I don't like this feeling either. It makes me look pathetic and weak, but there's no other girls like you. If I don't get you, no one can." Complete silence. It's not cause I didn't want to say something, it's cause I didn't have an idea on what to say to that. He just poured his heart out and I'm supposed to have a rehearsed answer.
"Cameron...oh my gosh." That's it? I'm secretly an idiot inside. When I looked over at him, his eyes were tearing up. Oh no...he was crying. What do I do?!
"Stop the car." I demanded, but he didn't listen, "dammit, Cameron! Stop the car!" I yelled. He finally rolled to the side of the road and just burst into tears. I unbuckled my seat belt and reached over to hug him. I let him cry on my shoulder, cause I had nothing else to offer him.
"Its okay." I repeatedly whispered in his ear, while holding his head to shoulder. I ran my fingers through his soft hair as he cried. I had to bite the inside of my cheeks to keep from crying myself. I hated seeing him this sad, it killed me inside. I guess guys have the same amount of feelings as girls. Cameron is really sensitive, which surprises me. You can't judge a book by its cover though.
Suddenly, Cameron left the car. I followed him, worried he might do something bad.
"Where are you going?" I shouted after him. He turned around, rubbing his eyes.
"I'm walking home. Here. Drive yourself." He threw me the keys to the car. I didn't know how to drive this thing, did he seriously expect me to?
"I don't know how to drive."
"Ask Peyton." That was the last thing he said before walking off.
