School field trips are always shitty

HE KNEW the situation would go wrong. The sensation of a thousand moths ravishing his brain reminded him of it. The feeling made his head tingle as a backlash, in any inconceivable moment, as if he had seen this once before.   It wreaks havoc on him when Nancy throws her sandwich into the curled hair of Grover, a fellow peer, who looked more insecure than ever afterward, and the boy beside him practically tackled her had it not been for Grover. It pinches his skin when he sees Mrs. Dodds, their chaperone on the trip to the museum, the way her statuette peered over them sent electricity crawling up his spine. It seemed to grow ten-fold when he stepped foot into the Museum.

"Will you shut up?" He glanced to his left as a rift of giggles echoed through the air and glided across the glossy tiles. He heard their teacher, "Mr Jackson,"he said, "did you have a comment?" The boy replied with no. Dumbass, he thought, glancing at the boy with pretty black hair like his. Mr. Brunner, the teacher, asked about a painting to this one kid, he felt he should know it...an urge to recognize the figures in the painting, but he yawned and his mind went blank.

He thought if he finally remembered what the painting was on, he'd help, but fortunately he didn't remember. So instead he watched the poor boy who he remembers the name of every now and then, (He tries not to glance at him, because he makes him feel strange-like he felt his actions were something he's seen before-type of strange too much), He watched him give a painful explanation of what was happening in the painting.

He found it amusing the way the teacher continues to look at Percy with encouragement for every wrong word he brings out those lips of his. He finds it amusing at how jumbled the words were of the painting depicting Kronos and the gods. His eyes light up, yes, that's who it's on! He thought with a bit of happiness inside of him. . . "On that happy note, it's time for lunch. Mrs Dodds, would you lead us back outside?"

The rest of the class followed Mrs Dodds and began to head outside the museum to where the first front steps were for lunch. He heard Mr. Brunner call out to Percy Jackson (he ignores the feeling of deja Vu) and begins to walk out glancing at the sky. It began to dampen and grow dim as clouds began to blacken and darken. A storm of turmoil was coming and he frowned when he realized he had forgotten his lunch again.

He sat down on the edge of the fountain glancing at the mundane moving of cars and taxis of fifth avenue. The movement of the water was echoing in his ears and his heart drummed in a slow rhythm within his chest captive as bones caged it. Playing with his fingers and tapping them against his leg that bobbed up and down, he overheard the conversation of the two kids sitting a little away from him. "Detention?" One had asked his green eyed friend who replied with no as he sighed. The mention of detention made Amani's eyes widen a fraction at the realization he had missed the detention for sleeping in class again for the fifth time yesterday.

"Not from him-Brunner, just wish he'd lay off me sometimes. I mean-I'm not a genius." The logical part of Amani thought so considering how he had seen Percy act, but a treacherous whisper of familiarity echoed in his mind. He frowned, wanting to leave, but the beating of his heart made him numb. 1. 2. 3-he counted the drums of his heart as it swallowed his ears whole for a while and let his mind devoid itself from mindless deja Vu and the feeling of constant visionary dreaming.

A simple line was spoken, but it let him feel for once that he could breathe. "Can I have your apple?" Grover had asked Percy, and he gave it to him. Ah, right. Grover and Percy. That's their names. He remembers. The peace didn't last long as Amani suddenly felt the need to step away from Grover. He did and soon Nancy dumped her lunch onto Grover's lap. "Oops" her lips stretched into a grin as she did so, showing her crooked teeth. He blinked and then suddenly Nancy Bobofit, in all her bastardly manner, was suddenly dounced in water with her ass on the fountain floor. Amani wondered if he was hallucinating again as he heard the whispers.
