THE FLEECE. . . Something that could rekindle an earthshaken life, life that's been brought to death's doors, life that would be brought gently like a kiss  backwards away from death. Rewinding like time to bring forth light swallowed by darkness. The fleece was wool lost in time, and here they stepped on the island, swallowed by the oceans to retrieve it. With an overcast of raven's and a great chasm at its first entrance, it contrasted the atmosphere of a tropical vacation. The power of the fleece was so grand enough, everyone could feel it. This power would be the one to guide Thalia's tree from its final step towards death.

Percy, upon making it to the island asked, "If we take it away, will the island die?" It was a rather good question, destroying a natural habitat was not something worth looking forward to. Annabeth shook her head. "It’ll fade. Go back to what it would be normally, whatever that is." She explained.

"This is too easy. We could hike up there and take it." Percy stated, his eyes attracted to the massive oak tree on the edge of the canyon holding something gold on its branches. "Isn't there supposed to be some big scary monster stopping us?" Val asked, glancing around. Annabeth’s eyes narrowed. "There’s supposed to be a guardian. A dragon or…"

A dear emerged from the bushes, trotting into the meadow, but the sheep already there all rushed the animal. It happened so fast that the deer stumbled and was lost in a sea of wool and trampling hooves.
Grass and tufts of fur flew into the air. A second later the sheep all moved away, back to their regular peaceful wanderings. Where the deer had been was a pile of clean white bones. "...There's our answer." Amani said, staring at the sheep who acted like nothing happened.

"They’re like piranhas," she said. Val nodded, "Piranhas but with wool. How will we –"  Annabeth suddenly gasped, pointing down the beach. "Look." Following her finger, to just below the sheep meadow, was a small boat had been run aground … the other lifeboat from the CSS Birmingham.

They decided there was no way to get past the sheep and all plans involving it would probably fail. Percy moored the Queen Anne’s Revenge on the back side of the island where the cliffs rose straight up a good sixty metres feet. The cliffs looked climbable (barely, but it's okay.) "Can't be as hard as the lava wall." Percy said, staring at it. "Yeah and no sheep ready to eat me alive." Said val with a chirp in his tone.

They rowed a lifeboat to the edge of the rocks and made their way up, very slowly. Annabeth went first because she was the better climber. Then it was Percy, Amani, and finally Valentino.

They came close to dying eight-nine times, most of which came from Valentino who was very vocal about it. "Fuck me! I'm literally gonna die, Amani help–! Wait nevermind." Amani could only look blankly at him. Other times, Amani almost lost his footing and would have slipped and hit 20 meters down, but luckily his hands managed to grip on tighter and he was just dangling.

It wasn't until Amani was sure his arms were straining and his muscles ached and his legs shaking that they finally hauled themselves up the cliff. In an instant, all of them collapsed onto the ground. They all groaned, "finally! I never want to climb another cliff–"

"Garrr!" bellowed another voice. Val's voice went out and his eyes went wide. Everyone whirled around to see who'd spoken, and Amani saw it. He noticed Percy about to say something, so he placed a hand over his mouth. Annabeth seemed to see it too as she pointed. There was a voice below the narrow ledge they sat on. "You’re a feisty one!" the deep voice bellowed. It echoed into his heart and he felt his heart thump.

"Challenge me!" Clarisse’s voice, no doubt about it. "Give me back my sword and I’ll fight you!" The monster roared with laughter. They crept to the edge.  Below them stood Polyphemus and Grover…in a wedding dress. That's a sight. Amani thought, trying to cover his snickers.
