❝ Grover's gone crazy ❞

DAYS TURNED INTO WEEKS and the last day of the term was upon the student body. Students flocked to their dorms and began to pack while talking amongst each other on what they plan on doing. Amani was no different as he packed his clothes, trinkets, and anything else he had brought or earned during his stay at Yancy in a a backpack and duffel bag. His hands busy.

When Amani had gone out the doors of Yancy, Grover and Percy were already leaving, most likely to the bus stop around the corner of the academy. Amani glanced at them before walking the opposite way on the search to find his designated driver. Can't wait to leave this place, he thought.

When he opened the door of the car his mother had sent, he took a glance at the driver. He was tall even when he was sitting, which made him question how tall he was when standing as his head almost reached the top of the car ceiling. He also had a hat that casted a shadow obscuring most of his face. This was a different driver compared to the one he remembers and he felt something was off, but got in nevertheless.

With traffic, the car had yet to move and so this new driver was talkative. Asking questions that gained no response and Amani was growing frustrated.

"How's your life going?"

He gets no response.

"Quiet one eh?"

He gets no response again. After around the 4th question and another sentence the driver spoke to himself with a mumble, Amani was oh so very close to leaving the car and taking the bus instead. With the traffic of various other cars waiting in line to grab their rich juveniles, the car had not even started. After around 2 minutes the driver began to mumble weirder things. "The scent..." , "Can't eat him now...",  "don't know if the car is sound proof..." Amani officially decided this guy was a weirdo and felt like he was going to kidnap him for child trafficking. His words of scent made him unnerved.

So he did what any other person would do. Grabbed his duffel bag and put his backpack on ever so slowly to not make too much noise and alert the driver. Once everything was done, he put his hand on the handle of the door, and bolted. Oh this guy is definitely something else-didn't even lock the door. He thought with both worry and relief.

The door unfortunately made noise when he opened and the driver shouted, "hey! Kid what are you doing?" He didn't reply as he left the door open and sprinted. When he glanced back, the driver had gotten out of the car a few moments after he did.

He was fucking tall. Close to seven feet if he had to estimate and the words he shouted, "mortals and their cars, always making things so small!" Made Amani decide to run even quicker. He ran back to the doors of Yancy and a little more until he found the machine to pay for a bus ticket.

When he finally arrived he heaved and coughed trying to catch his breath. I hate running. He took a glance around him before he saw a ticket window to buy bus tickets. Everything was automated and used computers, so with trembling fingers, he looked up his mother's company headquarters (his apartment was too far) and chose the closest stop to it. His shaky hands seemed to do him no good as he would type the wrong number or letter. "Fuck finally." He muttered, when the screen changed.

He reached into the small pocket of one of his bags  and took out a card his mother gave at the beginning of the school year to use for anything. He bought a ticket before running to the bus stop and when he got there the bus began to pull up.
