Peyton's pov

It's been a week since the full moon. The aftermath of the whole ordeal wasn't too bad. Tyler was still clueless about the whole vampire thing so that's good. I was luckily able to convince him that we all thought it was some strange animal attack. I don't know how he bought it but then again it's Tyler. The bad part was Caroline biting Matt. She ended up compelling him to forget but she also broke up with him over a fight about her being jealous of this other girl that was flirting with Matt. Mabey when she has more control over the vampire urges she can try and make it work with him but for now, she just needs to focus on Caroline.  

Today should be interesting Ric thought it would be a good idea to have a Barbecue and talked Jenna into having one. He also talked her into inviting over Damon and Tyler's uncle Mason. This will one hundred percent not turn out well. Honestly, the Barbecue was a cover for Damon to try to out Mason as a werewolf.  I'm pretty sure Damon will do something stupid to get himself hurt, so I was on babysitting duty for today. I haven't even talked to the guy since the night we found out Caroline was turned into a vampire. So today is going to be all kinds of awkward.

Peyton's pov

I was downstairs now helping Alaric with the food. Jenna was in the backyard putting food on the grill.  I grabbed the tequila and took a few shots. After I was I was met with a very judgemental Alaric. 

"Ok, buddy that is your last one. Especially since I need you to keep an eye on Damon today." 

"Alaric This!" I said while shaking the tequila bottle."Is the only way I am going to be able to care about Damon enough to protect him from Mason Lockwolf."

" So I am assuming by that reaction that you two haven't made up yet."

"Haven't made up with who?" I looked around the corner and saw Mason Lockwood walking over to us. " Sorry didn't mean to interrupt Elena let me in and it sounded like you two were having an important conversation. Let me guess bad break up?" 

"Uh, no fight with a friend." Alaric said bringing Mason in on the conversation

"Not with Tyler right?" Mason asked playing along with the conversation.

"No Tyler and I are fine." I said looking at Mason.

"Good your a good influence on him. I'll leave you two alone to figure this friend issue out. I have to go say hi and ask Jenna where the shot glasses are anyways. " Mason walked out of the room leaving Alaric and me alone.

" Did you really have to get him involved in this? And I'm not talking about our previous conversation. Look Mason is a nice enough guy and knowing Damon he's going to do something stupid to try and figure out if Mason really is a werewolf.  Someone going to wind up dead at the end of this. "

Alaric came over and clamped his hands on my shoulders "That is exactly why I need you to  keep an eye on them today." He then grabbed the bottle of tequila that I was holding behind my back." But in order to do that I need you sober."

Peyton's pov

The party seemed to be running smoothly enough. Everyone was in the other room playing charades no one is dead yet so that's a good sign. I was in the kitchen cleaning dishes while Elena was getting everything ready for dessert. Damon walked into the kitchen. " Aunt Jennas getting tipsy." He said while chuckling.
