I couldn't sleep. My mind focused on my family, I could only pray to Odin for their safety... But prayers are almost never answered.

The moon shining bright in the heavens above. I know my parents looked down on me from Vahalla, sometimes I could just... feel them. My father would know exactly what to do if he was caught in this situation.

Though Skye said I'm meant to free his people, I didn't know what that entailed. He described it so vaguely... Even so, if his people are anything like him I would feel no remorse if I left them to rot.

I sighed feeling the calm breeze on my face from Skye's office window. I sat hunched over in his desk with my chin resting in the palm of my hand and traced the textures in the wood with my finger.

Odin will make my path clear.

In one of the hundreds of ships that followed us, Loki was caged below the deck. I still couldn't leave Skye's cramped office without him escorting me. Thankfully he didn't sleep in it but in a small room only accessible through the office. The lock to his room clicked before the door opened a crack.

"Can't sleep?" Skye's voice was thick with sleep, as he stepped into the office.

"No." I didn't bother looking up at him, especially not with his ridiculous sleep wear, which was nothing but thick and comfortable looking trousers.

"Neither can I... Want a drink?"  Skye asked. I looked up at him, his blue eyes pierced mine. His features seemed so much softer and so much kinder in the light of the moon.

"Sure..." I siged, watching him as he came closer and kneeled down to open a drawer of the desk. His back was covered in lines of black ink. The tatoo was of a dragons skeleton that had flowers and runes decorating the creatures remains.

Skye pulled out two round glasses and a bottle of red wine and set them on the desk. The muscles in his back straightened as he stood back up and pulled a dagger from its hanging place on the wall, I immediately sat up not knowing what to expect from the human wild card.

"It's not for you Nevari, it's for the cork."  he breathed, digging the tip of the weapon into the cork of the bottle and prying it out.

Skye lifted one of the glasses and filled it until it nearly overflowed before setting it down in front of me. "I know you probably miss your family." He sighed, pouring himself a glass then taking a sip.

"Mhm..."

"I miss mine too." He leaned on the side of my chair with his arm and watched the stars out his window.

"At least you know where your family is." I took a sip of the wine; it tasted like cocoa and raspberry.

"I assume in Valhalla." I looked up at his figure, his face and posture was completely void of any emotions. "They're dead." Skye stated the obvious.

"Oh... How did it happen?" He looked down at me, his blonde waves falling over his forehead.

"They're dead because of your pathetic brother."
