Who honestly believes that Defne just crawled into her bed that night at the expo, whilst Seda was making a move on Sinan? Honestly!

He'd just dragged the sheets of his bed back when he heard the knock at his hotel room door. Straightening, he sighed, undoubtedly his partner, coming to berate him for having ruined his chances with Stil's owner. Rubbing a tired hand over his face, making his way to answer it, he acknowledged that he was in no mood to placate Sinan. Yanking the door open with an unimpressed frown, he was stunned to see a wide eyed Defne on the other side. Casting a glance up and down the hallway, she stepped past him, into the room.

"Defne?" Omer closed the door, turning to her, concerned. "Are you okay?"

Biting her lip, she nodded. "I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"Ruining our night." Shaking his head, Omer strode to her and pulled her into his arms. "We haven't been able to be alone together, and tonight was the perfect opportunity, and I embarrassed myself..."

Pulling back, he hooked a finger under her chin, lifting her eyes to meet his. "Defne, you haven't ruined anything... in fact, by coming here, you've made everything perfect." His smile was encouraging, gentle and warm.

It was true, they were together again, and yet they hadn't restarted the physical side to their relationship. He wanted her as much now, as he did before their first time. All of the waiting he had done before their first time, seemed less frustrating when compared to the waiting now. Now he knew how amazing they were together, how she felt, the sounds she made. Even after an entire year apart, they were burned into his memory, and not being able to bury himself inside of her was a new form of torture.

When she lifted herself onto tiptoes and pressed her mouth to his, he worried that she might have been able to read his mind, but quickly all thought went out of his head as he became overwhelmed by sensation and scent.

Groaning into her mouth, he hooked his hands beneath her thighs and lifted her against him, walking them the few feet to the bed and dropping them down to the mattress, their lips coming apart with an audible pop. She grinned up at him, and he returned her smile, heart swelling. She was beautiful, always had been, and somehow they'd found their way back to one another.

His mind conjured up the women he'd shared his bed with over the past year when he'd tried to drink and fuck the pain out of his soul, all paling in comparison to the woman beneath him, his heart stilled suddenly, a surge of guilt overwhelming him unexpectedly.

Frowning, Defne lifted a hand to his cheek. "Omer? What is it? What's wrong?"

"You know that I love you, don't you? That I've never loved, nor will I ever love, anyone as much as you? You know that?"

She smiled brilliantly. "I know that. It's nice to hear it anyway... but it doesn't explain why you look so sad right now..."

"We've just lost so much time, Defne. That's all. We've just lost so much time, all because of my pride, the idiotic things I've done..."

Her fingers slipped from his cheek to cover his lips. "Sshh... Don't. You told me not to think about the past... the same goes for you. We've both made mistakes, and I have missed you so much, but we're here now... together."

He pursed his lips against the pads of her fingers, nodding gently. "I missed you too."

Her eyes searched his for a few seconds before she slipped her hand up to the nape of his neck. "Show me. Show me how much you missed me, how much you love me."

Warm eyes drowned in her gaze and he lowered himself into her waiting arms, his lips catching hers as his hands explored the familiar curves and angles of her body. God, it had been so long, so long since he'd felt this emotion, this connection. Rome had been proof that sex and love making couldn't be compared. Sex was a means to an end, satisfying for mere moments followed by endless emptiness, making love to Defne was a spiritual experience. No matter how much he learned about her, he wanted to learn more.
