"Anna indha model nalla irukkum ah?" Sivaangi asked, looking at the display curiously.
"Nalla illana naanga showroom la vekka maatom madam." The salesperson replied, bored of talking about the same models day after day.
"Pch, anney! Naa konjam clumsy, en kai ku indha model suit aagum nu thonudhu. Enna colour vanguradhu ippo!?" She looked at the available colours on the pamphlet. "Seri naa indha model la black colour vaangikaren!"
She paid, got the phone and started to her house. The 22 year old woman absolutely loved electronic gadgets and always spent quality time with them. Her relationship with her phone, especially, was eternal love.
A few days later-
"Sivaangi!! Evlo nerama kooparen konjam aachum enna nu kekariya?" Sivaangi's mom called out to her. This was a familiar thing to be heard in the household, but something unusual was happening to Sivaangi. Or rather, Sivaangi's phone.
"Ei unakku enna aachu? Naa edhume pannama whatsapp thorakkara? Vaangi konjam naal laye paithiyam pudichirucha?" Sivaangi closed the application repeatedly as her phone opened different applications with a mind of it's own.
"Naa annike andha anna kitta keten idhu nalla model ah illaya nu. Ippo paarunga konjam naal laye pei pudicha maari thaana open aagudhu thaana type pannudhu!" Sivaangi cursed, looking sadly at her beloved phone.
It was already time for a service.

Bored out of her mind while staring emotionlessly at her manager, who hadn't stopped droning on and on about the company; Sivaangi sat staring at her phone.
Her self operating phone, to be precise.
Everytime her phone opened applications on it's own, Sivaangi closed it right away and ended it right there. Today however, she was bored and didn't have anything to do whilst her manager stood there teaching them how to sleep with their eyes open, she decided to let it do whatever it kept doing.
She was bored, so why not?
She switched on her phone and kept it on her lap, watching. The phone swiped left and right for a few seconds, and then opened notes. Sivaangi almost screamed and dropped the phone when it began typing, "HELLO".
Sivaangi switched her phone off right away while her heart kept thudding badly. Is it some sort of a virus or...?
Suddenly, her phone switched on right back and written in notes were the words, "Hey Sivaangi, I know you are alarmed but I can explain. Just give me a few moments. Please don't switch your phone off."
Sivaangi's eyes widened and her hands began shaking. Reluctantly, she typed, "Who are you?"
The typing began again, "My name is Ashwin. It will be hard to believe but I'm trapped inside this phone. I also understand that you cannot trust me easily, but I really need your help to come out of this trap."
Sivaangi frowned, typing, "How can I believe you? And how did you get trapped inside my new phone!?"
"You can test me, ask about me, talk to me because I'm human too. And I got trapped by a guy who I challenged, long story. You can listen to it while your manager and colleagues are not looking at you."
Sivaangi jerked up to see all her colleagues looking at her curiously. "An emergency, Sivaangi?" her manager asked.
"Uhh yes sir, an important call from home. Can I get permission to go home right now? It's urgent, sir"
A few minutes later, Sivaangi sat inside a cab, opened notes once again and typed, "You know, I'm tempted to go to a service centre and update an antivirus program."
"Sivaangi I'm no virus, antivirus programs won't work. Let me explain, please help me out of this trap and there'll be no harm done. Please believe me."
"Ashwin, are you hearing yourself right now? Look at it from my point of view. A random person inside my phone asking me to help him so that he can come outside? This must be the definition of crazy!"
"I know I know but I don't have any other option! You're my only hope. I can explain how I was trapped. Please?"
"Can you just tell me what's going on? I don't understand anything, and once I understand I'll think about helping you. Are you human or a ghost?"
"Of course, I'll tell you. I am human though, just trapped by magic-like science."
"Magic-like science ahh?"
"You'd be surprised Sivaangi maa. Science these days is so developed that they seem like magic. This phone you're using today, for example, would seem like magic to people who lived 50 years ago."
"Yes you're right. But indha magic like science trap lendhu epdi veliya varuvinga?"
"It's a long process for which I need your help. Pannuviya please?"
Sivaangi sighed, "Can I know the story please?"
"Okay so I work for this phone's company. You know I said that science these days are coming close to magic? This company's technology is so evolved that you won't believe your eyes if you look at it. But they won't show this to the world, as it puts their power in the backseat. They will not be able to do things that common people only dream of. If everyone else can have magic like science, what makes the owner different from commoners?"
"So how did you end up in the middle of this?"
"Uh I wanted to get this technology available for all the people here. Not just the powerful and rich. So I went and... fought him. There was this glowy sort of gun which our owner pointed and shot at me. It kind of zapped me into a phone in the factory. That phone was not meant to be sold, but by a miracle it came into the showroom and you bought it."
"So you tried to be the hero like in the films you watched, but ended up inside a phone?"
"Well I've always wanted to be a hero, so why don't you be the heroine and save me?"
"Indha punch ku onnum korachal illa. Seri naa enna pannanum?"
Ashwin explained the plan to her, and as days passed, Ashwin and Sivaangi were not only people who got introduced to each other through a difficult situation, they grew fond of each other. Ashwin cracked jokes through the notes application and Sivaangi found a way to make him hear her singing. It was her favourite pastime since her childhood and Ashwin loved her singing.
Months passed as the strength of their relationship grew stronger. Sivaangi's quirkiness lighted up Ashwin's day and being inside her kutty kai made him feel safe. In return, his calm and composed nature, even though he was stuck inside a phone made Sivaangi swoon. Finally their plan was ready and they were hoping to execute it as planned.
It was showtime.
