After Allegiant

Tris's POV

TIME LAPSE THREE WEEKS LATER

I wake in a haze of nothing but blindingly bright lights. The cold air held nothing but the smell of disinfectant. The signature smell of a hospital. And the soft beep of a heart monitor.

"Thank God that your awake, I was worried sick. Did you know that you were shot twice, Tris? Probably not." As whoever is talking I try to think about who it is and in a split second I know it's Uriah.

" Uriah," I manage to say. " Where are we?" Then I attempt to sit up, but can't but he's already helping me."Thanks."

He sighs, and his smile fades."I don't know how to say this but they took us Tris. Told our families we where dead, drugged us, and took us here."

" Where is here Uriah. "

" Somewhere called Des Moines," he sighs, "a long ways from home." I emetiatly think of Tobias who thinks I'm dead. Who's probably grieving, and doing the thing where he copes with pain with pain like the tattoos and fear landscapes. I feel tears welling up in my eyes, and do everything I can to keep them in.

Then there is a knock on the door, and a tall blonde women walks in she says "Beatrice Prior I'm so glad to see that you are awake. My name is Dr. Houston. I am here to do some simple test to help see what's wrong and what's not. I will have to ask your friend here to leave."

Uriah stands up and says "I'll be outside." Just as he walks walks out another women that is short, with black hair and angular eyes walks in smiling and bringing a tray full of needles, and bottles.

I ask "What are those for?"

"Oh, I'm Dr. Green. And these are for the test."

For the next twenty minutes or so I have my blood draw and annualized in front of my as well as other testing. Then the one named Dr. Houston starts to tell me the results of the test.

"This one's very interesting. Come here Dr. Green. Tell me what you think."

"That is right. But we should do an ultrasound to make sure" Dr . Green answers with a smile. "I'll tell the boy that he can come in now" They then leave the room. I wish that Tobias was here because then I might not be so nervous.

Uriah comes in and sits at the foot of my bed and says " I had to go through the same thing."

"You had to have an ultrasound? " I ask

He almost falls of the edge of the bed. "Why would you need one of those? Tris have you been doing things lately? " he says raising both eyebrows in question.

The doctors return shortly after that conversation once again making Uriah leave the room. They put gel on my lower abdomen and run the ultrasound sticking over it. Then on the screen of her computer there is a blinking light. She shuts the ultrasound down, and tell me, "Beatrice Prior, congratulations you are pregnant. " Then they both leave the room. Then I know who the only possible father is. Tobias. Uriah walks in and I tell him the news.
