The next morning,I woke up rather early. The wake up call wouldn't be for another hour. Proving myself up on my elbows, I got up and looked around. The room was dark, but I could still see the other's silhouettes moving up and down as they slept. Rubbing my eyes, I turned to the right to see a boy, probably 17 reading something on his phone. I hadn't seen him before, was he new? Oh yea the boy from yesterday. I turned around to get out of bed, when my brain snapped back from oblivion. I slowly turned around to his figure.
OH MY GOD IGS HIM WHAT DO I DO-
The phone light was bright enough to show his eyes darting left and right on the screen, as though reading something. His teeth were biting his lip as his eyebrows scrunched in concentration.
Feeling a gaze, he looked up, his sight of vision colliding with mine.
Well shit, I thought.
However this time, unlike yesterday, i stared back at him, my confidence bewildering him as his eyes widened a fraction and surprising myself. Our staring contest went on for what seemed like hours but were only seconds until a voice interrupted it.
"Hi"
OHMYGODHISVOICEISSO-
"H-hey" I managed to awkwardly stutter back.
He smiled, sensing my hesitation
THATSMILEOHMYGODHOWISHESOPERFECT!
"What's your name?"
"Sera"
"W-w-what's y-yours?"
"Jungkook"
"Nice name"
Sera what even? Nice name? Way to go shithead, you'd be ranking number 1 for most awkward-
"Thanks I like yours too"
OMG HE LIKES MY NAME I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS BUT IM LOVING IT-
"What are you doing here?"
I stayed frozen for a minute trying to process his words. Sensing my confusion, the bunny like boy's eyes adorably widened, as he ranted in front of me.
"Oh, I didn't mean what you're doing here as in what you are doing here- no wait, I did mean that- no nit like that! I mean like if you have a problem, well not really a problem like that, but like a medical issue and I swear I didn't mean to insult you-"
"It's fine, I get what you're saying"
At this point I was buying my lips hard, trying to hold back a smile as he tensed up.
He stopped and looked at me with a hesitating, lost, but curious expression, almost as if he was afraid that he would insult me by his gaze itself.
"I-I just have problems with breathing, m-my lungs have slight issues sometimes, it's not really serious"
"Oh"
"What are you doing here?" I asked with a teasing smile, my confidence erupting out of nowhere.
" I was in an accident before, and now have issues with my knees and below. I need therapy for a few months and then I'll be good to go" he replied, still flustered from before.
"Good for you, I-I hope you get better soon then"
"Me too. So, how long have you been here?"
"About 6 months, what about you?" I replied.
He looked flustered for some reason. "Uhh, maybe 10 hours?"
Blushing in embarrassment I awkwardly chucked before muttering a feeble right.
Getting up he flashes a small smile at me, "We should probably get ready for the day"
"Yeah we should" I replied, still blushing.
Chuckling he helped himself onto the wheelchair beside his bed, and strode off into the boys bathrooms......
Leaning on the wall. I watched as the sun set, dark red and yellow fading out, the navy blue shade replacing it. I hated the night sky. It reminded me of my life. Before it had been all sunshine and daisies, and running around in backyards, but then the brush splashed darkness everywhere on the canvas, swallowing the others whole. The paint kept dripping across, little to no time left for it to take over and wash the red and yellow away. Living was something I actually enjoyed until, 6 months ago. The blue shade didn't spare an inch as it ruined the painting completely. Even my parents didn't want me anymore.
A disappointment.
A failure.
A mistake.That was all I was.
Fighting was my first decision, don't get me wrong. I wasn't always this hopeless. The blue had just drained me out, so much, that the red and yellow didn't have another option but to succumb to darkness.
And then he came along.
