It's getting closer to open the doors to Mac's bar. Grandpa had gotten discharged the day before Draven went off on me in the diner. He will be with me when I open the bar doors. My children will also be there. I have to give some heartfelt speech before the doors fully open. That's the moment I am truly dreading. I have my daughter dressed in her outfit which consisted of a light grey sweater, some leggings, her combat boots. I have her hair in two space buns and she wanted her leather jacket on. Kaiser is dressing Blade. Blade has picked his own outfit out which is his black shirt with a skull on it, black ripped jeans, and his combat boots. He even threw on his jacket. Kaiser pulled Blade's hair into a bun on top of his small head. I opted for one of my black Creed MC tank tops that my dad gotten me years ago. I pulled it out of the old dusty box, that I hadn't opened in six years. The back says Daddy's Princess. With it is my black skinny jeans and my black combat boots. Kaiser takes off towards the bar on his Harley. Dad grabs Everleigh and slowly rides with my daughter towards the bar. Mom picks up Blade before Dawson could. They are right behind dad. Dawson, Dylan, and I hop onto ours' and haul behind everyone. When we get to the side of the bar, it is already cram packed with everyone waiting for my arrival. Grandpa and Grandma are already on the porch of the bar. Kaiser is in the front row at the bottom step. Dad has everyone parting like the Red Sea with his big scary built. Mom follow close behind. Dawson is in front of me while Dylan is behind me. We make it to the top of the porch. When I look out into the crowd, I don't see those green eyes anywhere.
Figures he would not show up. I don't know why I had hoped he would. I mean I wouldn't either if I was in his shoes.
"As you all know I had to close this place down for a few months due to my health. I have handed this place over to McKenzie. Be respectful and don't rush past her to get in these doors. Because my shotgun is still ready to hand out lead for free." Grandpa warns.
I take a deep breath and look at Kaiser, who's guarding the steps. He give me a nod and smiles.
"As you heard my grandpa, he kindly gave me this bar. It's been in our family for generations. I won't change the name because his name is Mac and my nickname is Mac. Whenever he shall pass, this bar will be all I have left of my Grandpa." I pause to ease my nervousness. I don't know why I'm nerve when this is the same folks I grew up around.
Dad gives my shoulder a squeeze. I look up and see the green eyes I have been looking for in this crowd. His appearance here completely shocks me to my core. I take a deep breath and try to come my hammering chest. I need my voice to powerful not broken and shattered.
"As you may have heard. Because this small town knows everything. Yes, I have children, twins to be exact. Dad has Everleigh and my mom has Blade. They'll be inside with us so please be mindful and don't go destroying things. If you need to break a face please do it outside in the parking lot. If not than my father, brothers, and I won't hesitate to put a bullet in your ass cheek. Other than that let's go in and enjoy a beer. Or whatever. Come on y'all." I say. I walk inside with my family behind me. When everyone piles into the bar, grandpa hands me a quarter for the jukebox. Grandpa and dad walk with Everleigh and I to the jukebox.
"Pick a song Eve." I tell her when I place the quarter in. She picked her choice and when the music starts to place all I could do is laugh.
"Like mother like daughter. Aye?" Grandpa and dad say at the same time. The bartenders are behind the bar making drinks as the waitresses are taking orders. Grandpa grabs Everleigh's hand and leads my almost 5 year old to the dance door. My father grabs my hand and hauls me to the dance floor behind my family. Dad is twirling me around and Grandpa has Everleigh in his arms dancing with her. Dad twirls me around and Kaiser grabs me. He starts to twirl me around until I'm back into my dad's arms. Dad twirls me and I collide with a wall in the middle of the dance floor.
"I'm so..." I pause when I take in the green eyes staring back at me. I turn towards my dad, grandpa, and Kai; they all have sly smirks on their faces like they planned this all along. I go to walk off when Draven grabs my hand.
"Can we talk? Outside?" He asks.
"Let me check on..." I go to say.
"Our children." Draven finishes. This shocks me to the core. All I could do is nod my head and pray to God my shattered heart doesn't completely disappear. We both walk to see Kaiser has Everleigh. Showing her how to play pool. Dawson and Dylan have Blade and is teaching him darts. Seeing my kids are in great hands I walk to my dad and tell him.
"I'll be back in a few minutes. If I don't come back within the hour send help." I whisper in his ear. Dad does a full belly laugh that causes the wrinkles around his eyes to crinkle and shakes his head.
"Go! We got them. You two need to seriously talk." Dad says and kisses my head. I walk to the back of the bar through the back door with Draven trailing behind me. I walk to the side where I have parked my Harley and lean against her. This is going to be a long night.
"I need to..." I began.
"Explain?" Draven says like a question.
"Yea, let me start 6 years ago." I said.
I inhale and exhale a few times before I can get the nerves to start my explanation. Once I am calm as I possible can be. I open my mouth. Here goes nothing.
