I watch as he places both kids into his side and begins to tell a story. Half way through his story I end up leaving the room. I head for the kitchen to grab a drink. But heard everything he was saying, even if he was trying to be quiet.
"There was this adorable little sky-blue-eyed girl. She was so intriguing and the sweetest girl you could meet. She remembers me of you, Everleigh. She was always with her older brother and I. As she grew up I realized I was in too deep because I started to fall for this beautiful girl. By the time we were in high school, I fell in completely love with her. I tried to avoid that feeling all together. But the day she punched her ex in the face was the day I couldn't deny what I felt. I was crushed to pieces when she suddenly just left."
"Did you ever tell her you loved her?" Everleigh asks with a yawn.
"No, but now she's back and I plan to make up for all the years I was a fool."
Blade is quick to pick up on who his father is taking about. Which stuns me when his question pops out of his mouth."Do you love mummy? Blade asks.
"Yes. Yes I do little man." He answers clearly.
"Can we be a family?" Everleigh asks with her eyes half shut.
"We're already a family princess." He answers.
"But will you and mum get together and make us complete?" Blade counters his dad. Smart boy, he gets that from his father.
"I'm working on that part son." He answers. I hear Blade's soft snores and knew both of them fell asleep. I go to place my glass back into the sink when I hear Draven's booting pounding against the wooden floor.
"Sorry, I don't know any children stories so I sort of told part of ours." He says while scratching the back of his head.
"It's fine. Honestly." I answer him.
"I meant what I said. I'm working becoming a family." Draven whispers.
"We're already a family Draven because of the MC, because of those two in there." I respond back.
"No. I meant us. In one house." Draven counters. This stuns me to my core.
"We better take them to their rooms." I answer back. I don't know what to say to his confession. He picks up both our children like they weren't nothing but feathers. I show him Everleigh's princess themed room and he places her gently on her canopy bed. With Blade still asleep in his arms; he bends down and kisses Eve on her head. He pulls her covers over her and we walk into the joining room. Blade's room is all about motorcycles so it's not surprise he has a motorcycle lamp. Draven gently places Blade on his bed and kisses his head. He covers him up with his blanket. He quietly turns on his motorcycle lamp. When we walk into Everleigh's room he stops and turns her princess lamp on. Everleigh in her sleep grabs his hand and mumbled.
"Stay with me dad."
Draven slips his old boots off and climbs into her bed. Everleigh clings to him like a koala and doesn't let go.
"I'll leave when she releases me." Draven swears.
"Don't worry. It's fine. Get some rest." I answer him. I walk into the living room and locked all the bolt locks. I walk to the back door to make sure it's still locked. On my way into my room, I stop at Everleigh's door and see Draven fast asleep holding our daughter. I head to bed that night with a smile on my face. The next morning the smell of bacon wakes me up.
I quickly spring out of bed and rush to the kitchen. I spot Everleigh sitting on the counter next to her shirtless father. The table has eggs, pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy. He's over the stove cooking bacon and talking to Everleigh.
