Apocalypse/ Zombie AU
It was a silent, colourful dawn.
The clattering of the train wheels could be heard and metal sounding like it would break apart soon.
At a medium high speed, the train moved and speeded over a long bridge above a wild ocean, blues clashing against the hard cement under them, ready to devour them without leaving a single trace if they fell.
"Enjoying the view?", a soft voice asked with slight amusement watching the others tender expression while staring outside a broken window, blue hair gracefully dancing in the wind.
"no... I hate it. It gives me a false sense of comfort and safety. In this world you can't afford to let your guard down even once, but this scenery makes it hard to be on guard."
They stared at the sunset for a little longer before the shorter one broke the silence once more.
"I wished it could always be this peaceful. But soon we would be in battle again. Let's enjoy this for just a little longer...Maybe for the last time"
Both knew that they yearned for the same world. One where they could finally settle down and never pick up a sword ever again. No more dead people scattered all over the place and no more zombies following them wherever they step their foot on.
It was a naive thought that they might both survive together, but they still risked their life's for each other, hoping they could get at least a little step closer to their goal.
Deep blue eyes like the ocean beneath them fixated on the figure standing beside him.
"I won't give up that easily. Neither should you. We will see something more beautiful than this when this mess is all over"
The blue haired wasn't a naive person, but deep down he wanted to hope for a life after the apocalypse.
He couldn't stop believing just yet. And the brunette next to him, who leaned on his shoulder was his reason to fight.
Being honest, the slightly taller man would have given up on life after his parents died, but not long after he met a young boy with warm brown locks delicately decorating his head.
Who would have known that the confident and bold boy would soon be the hero of their nation?
Someone who rescues them from their misery.
And no one else than the infamous swordsman by his side.Oh how happy it made him seeing his dearest smile a genuine smile while watching the last rays of sunshine before the ever black night.
-
But who would have known that their well deserved peace would be interrupted that soon?"Lloyd...?" a shaky voice called out to the brunette lying underneath the remains of a building they were supposed to search through for survivors.
Red fluids slowly but surely dripped down the numb body and painted the surroundings dark.
The blue haired rushed over to the other's side and gripped the object that was crushing the shorter man's body.
Or he tried to, but felt his arms grow weaker and his body wouldn't stop trembling.
He tried again and again but it won't seem to move even an inch.
Suddenly he felt a weak hand grip his wrist and stopped him from any further movements.
With glassy eyes, the blue haired looked to the direction the arm comes from and sees a pale and blood covered man.
It was the same man who he accompanied through thick and thin. the one who saved him from death several times and the same man who has grown onto him ever since.
"Don't use up your energy. It is too late", the brunette whispered and felt his eyelids getting heavier.
The night was cold and on the brim of death everything felt a lot more sensitive to his body.
He was hyper aware of the crashing waves near them and the warm blood on the ground.
Thought something made him forget all his worries and pain in a single motion.
The blue haired swordsman took him into his arms, careful not to inflict any further pain on him.
"Don't say that. You promised to stay with me", he whispered back and pressed his forehead against the other's.
"Maybe I am a liar like everyone said."
His voice was even weaker than before, with barely any breath left."Let us meet in the next life, okay? Wait for me. Search for me. Anything to be with you again"
"Lloyd...."
The blue haired was trembling and sobbing. Tears not wanting to stop, a pained scream escaped his quivering, pale lips.
It felt like his world crumbled and he couldn't do anything against it.
He knelt and didn't want to get up, wanting to hold the other close to him, forever.
Everyone within ears range could imagine what happened.
In that moment, an angel left their world.
