Something Suho would miss the most about the modern world would be the music.
He would often just blast god knows what ear deafening sounds to work and that somehow helped with his concentration, but that's not the kind he missed.
What he missed was the classical music he would play with his earphones in, the soft tunes of recorded violins or whole orchestras. The music he remembers relaxing to.
He might not seem like the type of person, but Suho loved classical music. Even the powerful and dramatic Symphonies like Beethoven or Vivaldi would compose made him calm down.
In a hectic and stressful life like Suho had, one of the only things that would make him stop and breathe for a moment was classical music.
He would spend the evenings he wasn't working or studying to lay in bed for hours just listening to symphonies and drifting off into a half sleep.
Now in Lloyd's time period they obviously had the classical music that Suho loved, but not the recording methods. He didn't have earphones and he didn't know how to make some. The only choice he had was either attend concerts, for which he didn't have the time, or get a gramophone, which was too loud and the quality made the music not calming at all. It was frustrating for Suho, but he had no choice but to accept it.
On a particular calm night he passed a room in the manor he usually didn't pay much attention to, but that evening he suddenly heard sounds in it. It seemed to be a piano. He never knew they owned one and wondered why they never sold it for money when they were in debt for a few months ago.
Out of curiosity he slowly opened the door and saw Javier with his back facing him, playing on a white grand piano. It seemed that the piano just got dusted off by said blue haired, as there was a dirty rag on the side. The piano was slightly out of tune, but that just added a special touch to it, making it sound like out of a movie.
Javier barely looked at the sheet in front of him as he played with sheer emotions, obviously a tune he knew by heart.
It was a sound that Suho obviously didn't recognise. He was in a completely different time period after all and in a foreign universe at that.
While slowly stepping in, carefully not to interrupt Javier while playing, he spotted what seemed to be a violin in the corner.
The violin was old, but still in a good condition, seemingly it just got unpacked out of its case. As quiet as he could, Suho tried to tune the violin, but to his surprise it was already done. Did Javier play with it before playing the piano?
Javier was too focused on playing to notice that Lloyd had entered and also didn't notice that he had grabbed the violin.
Suho definitely didn't have a talent for singing, that was established, but that didn't cancel out his talent for music. The violin was an instrument Suho loved to play, he just didn't have enough money to buy one, he had to sell his old one even.
A slight nervousness rose in Lloyd as he picked up the bow. He wasn't sure if he could still play after all that time. The nervousness lessened as he heard Javier repeating the melody from before, probably close to the end of the Symphony.
Now that Suho more or less knew the pattern he let his muscle memory work its wonder and easily found a tune to harmonize with the piano.
He knew that Javier would be startled, but still hoped he wouldn't stop playing. And continue he did.
Suho closed his eyes and Javier didn't bother turning back, as he thought it was Marbella playing behind him. Little did he know it was her son, who never in his life tried to learn any instruments even when he received lessons as a child.
The melody repeated itself again before coming to another peak just before the end. It was obvious that the violin was a bit more hesitant and lagged slightly behind, but that was quickly made up by its wonderful sounds.
There were maids passing by outside and marvelled at the music, as there hadn't been any people playing there for a long time, everyone was busy and thus barely had time to rest, not even speaking of playing instruments.
A melody made by two instruments that sounded so out of tune suddenly slotted in together so well that even in a few days people would continue to talk about it, that was for sure.
When the symphony came to its end, Javier paused for a moment, he was touched by the beautiful harmony and was about to turn around to talk to the violin player, but suddenly heard the door close, violin back at its original place.
The mysterious violinist ran away, leaving Javier stunned and confused, alone in the piano room.
