A power play, a tale as old as time. Angels versus Demons, Ice versus Fire, Light versus Dark, Good versus Bad.The classical bedtime story you tell your kids. But I dare say this is a little different.
-
"Demon. Who gave you permission to cross the border to the unclaimed land?"
"Hey, you already said that this land is unclaimed. I am allowed to walk here without permission!"
The light blue haired sighed and glared at the man in front of him.
"As the guard of the heavens gates, I am obligated to know the reasoning for your presence here."
He observed the other, brown hair that seemed like red on the other's head was something unusual, half brushed back, half flying around.
The slightly shorter male smirked and playfully flapped with his wings tainted with the color of blood.
"Listen up angel. It's not like only heaven is allowed to have guards at their gates. I am as much of a guardian as you"
His vivid red eyes flared up and a cheeky smile plastered itself on his face.
Javier wished to smack that smirk off, but he wasn't allowed to.
The higher ranking angels forbid him to attack anyone without a good reason, because that could cause yet another war between heaven and hell."How am I able to trust you?"
"Well that sounds like a you problem"
He shrugged and sat down with his legs crossed.
"In your case I wouldn't hold a too big grunge against me because we will spend quite some time together"
A book appeared out of a flame on Lloyd's hand. He started reading it and Javier only watched him as he stood there.
The blue haired took a deep breath and summoned an ice chair to rest on.
-
Time passed, years and years went on and the two started to enjoy each others company. At first it was an annoying bickering that later turned into friendly banter. It took a lot of time for Javier to let go of his grunge against demons and to maybe see Lloyd as a friend and maybe more.
After all those years the two only had small incidents at the gates to heaven and hell. Nothing too big and they hoped that it would never change.
But like everything, their peace came to a halt.
"STORM IN!"
"ANGELS ARE EVADING HELL! EVERYONE TO THE GATE"
Another war? No. It's too one sided for a war. The angels are not playing fair games even though it's the demon's job to be evil. Why? Because they had a spy.
"Javier…You betrayed me"
"Betrayed you?"
Javier was smiling even though he did not feel like it. He had reasons for why he did what he did. It was what the higher ups told him to do and he couldn't go against them.
"No, I saved you."
"This is not how you save someone! You are taking my family! My home! Everything!"
Between all that mess, all the loud noises, there were the two of them.
"You know I had no choice, Lloyd"
"You did. There is always a choice. And you chose to go against me."
"Come with me. We can live with each other till death does us apart"
The sadness toned down. What was left was pure anger and disappointment and Lloyd let it show. How did he dare to ask him that after turning his back against him.
A familiar sounding scream halted Lloyd in his motions and stopped him from answering.
"AROSH"
He rushed to wherever he heard the voice coming from, leaving Javier standing all by himself.
All alone again. Javier knew that feeling all too well.
-
"Subject 637, shows great potential, not communicative"
It was cold. Too cold for a child in only a simple long shirt that reached down to his knees.
Not only that, but his eyes were cold too. All warmth from the time before he arrived at this place was a mere fading memory."Insert injection"
Javier glanced to the arm that was being hold by one of the three people surrounding him. Three more were standing off at the sides.
A cold needle touched Javier's delicate skin and the child flinched as they injected whatever was in the needle.
His wings flapped wildly as he screamed in agony. The fluid that got inserted made him feel like he was burned from the inside.
He screamed and begged for them to make it stop, but the six people only stood at the side and watched.
Javier was alone. From the day he arrived there and onwards, he was alone.
In heaven, the place of light and warmth, he felt cold and dark, how ironic.
When he was older and disciplined he got released, but was still under surveillance.
"Subject 637, you will be the guardian of the sacred golden gates to heaven. Do your job right and you will be released"
A hope shined in the empty eyes of the young angel whose past was stolen.
Naive.
-
A pained scream eccoed through the other yelling. It sounded so hurt that everyone else could feel the agony the person felt at that moment.
Javier let a sorrowful face show, knowing that the pain was indirectly inflicted by him.
"I'm sorry Lloyd. I promise to love you right in our next forever"
He turned his back to the massacre that was happening and flew, far far away. To a place where no one would see him die a pathetic dead by something only the people from the labor could cause.
Bending over in immense pain, he gripped his arm and glanced over. a purple colour spread over his arm, over to his shoulder.
"This wasn't how I wanted to die"
He whispered to himself. Why did he even whisper and not scream? No one was there to hear him anyways.
