Cute forgetful owl joins the battle. Honestly, writing this just makes me love Mumei even more and I for one am not complaining.

🦉 First date:

Theme parks are fun, right?

They're bright and colourful, and while they are a little crowed, Mumei's enthusiasm rubbed off on you and you couldn't help but feel bright and bubbly with her. Winning game after game and garnering a surprisingly high stack of prizes, you and Mumei had to find some place out of the way to use a little magic to get them back home.

It was all fun and games, just snacking on some food of your choice, until Mumei let out quiet and audible gasp of pure excitement. She tugged frantically on your arm, waving her free hand in the direction of a rather interesting looking roller coaster.

You squinted, trying to read the name from a distance.

The Smiler.

This was going to be fun, right? Right?

You almost threw up your food from the sheer amount of times you were spun around at high speeds. You felt your soul leave your body as it dipped and rose, spinning till you were upside down with the only thing keeping you secure being the straps of your seat.

Meanwhile, Mumei looked like she was having a blast. Hands waving in the air as everyone screamed behind her. How the giant swathe of fairy floss she ate wasn't making itself known again, you didn't know.

But, it was over as soon as it began and you silently cheered your victory of keeping your food down. Now, you were pretty sure you spotted a petting zoo on your way in and- wait, Mumei? Mumei please- YOU DIDN'T WANT TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN-

You proceeded to ride The Smiler four more times until you finally managed to pull Mumei away (while almost fainting in the process).

🦉 First kiss:

After that whole roller coaster fiasco, you were a little hesitant in the next few dates. Thankfully, Mumei calmed down and here the two of you were, waiting patiently in line as you waited for the cinema room to open.

Well, you were waiting. Mumei had offered to grab some snacks and had been gone for roughly ten minutes. You were just thankful she offered to cover the cost of the snacks beforehand, knowing exactly how much she was going to spend.

And while you were waiting, and old friend managed to spot you waiting and decided to have a little chat. Seeing as you hadn't seen them in a while, it was kind of awkward, but they brought up a shared interest and you were both talking like it was the good old days.

Halfway through you conversation, Mumei returned with two boxes of popcorn, a two litre bottle of your favourite drink, various assorted snacks and other miscellaneous pieces of food she had stored in a bag she had brought with her. She seemed a little miffed at the newcomer, but otherwise was hospitable. That was until they made a certain remark.

"Yeah, it's a shame I had to move away. Long distance relationship didn't really work and I missed hanging out with you," And just like that, the protectiveness dial had been turned up to dangerous.
