--- • LIKE A MAN WHO'S BEEN CAUGHT CHEATING, Jeremy immediately got off of the bed and and kissed Aurum on the forehead for the mean time, "Let's meet up later, darling." And left through the windows.

Aurum didn't think twice and stood up from her position and walked to the door, she opened it a little and peeked through the door.

"Good morning, Father," she greeted politely. "That would be lovely but I haven't had breakfast yet," she said.

Nerium raised a brow, "That's odd, you always eat breakfast early, are you alright?", He asked as he furrows his eyebrows in concern.

The girl nodded her head, "Yes, Father. I just slept very late last night that's all," she confessed, but did not tell the whole truth.

"Is that so? Then why don't you have breakfast with us?"

Aurum smiled, "That would be better, then please wait for me, I'm just going to change..."

--- • After breakfast, the Lapises took a stroll around the mansion, mostly Aurum trying to get familiarized with the place. A few people from the other houses also walked around, Nerium took notice of the men around the area, he raised his brows.

"Aurum, you do know that youll be meeting that Agriche boy again, right?", He asked. Ninguang's and Aurum's face hardened, a bit nervous on what's inside his head.

"Yes, It's been a long time since I saw him...", She lied smoothly.

Aurum wonders why her father is asking about him, it might be because it would cause trouble, a clash between him and Lant. Because there's no way that Nerium would approve of someone from the Agriche-

"Do you like him?"

Rex Lapis, why are your descendants so blunt?

Aurum looks back to her father with furrowed eyebrows, "Why would you think that, Father?", she asked.

Ninguang nods her head, "That boy was her captor, why would she like him?" The mother tries to cover up for her daughter.

"Hhm, because he's just a normal boy who was unfortunately born as an Agriche."

Aurum freezes at her father's words, her mind goes back three years ago when she finally got back home. Nerium and her talked about how Roxana Agriche helped them escape...

And how Jeremy somehow came to like her...

"Why do you care about that Agriche boy so much, dear?"

"Because he's just a normal boy who was unfortunately born as an Agriche"

Nerium comes close to his daughter and patted her head comfortingly, "You're just like your Aunt...", He muttered before leading the way back inside the mansion, his long robe flowing behind him.

--- • Nerium Lapis is the patriarch and the master of the Lapis Clan, a man with high responsibilities, a man who is greatly respected by many among the land. He's a man who cares about family relations, but he's also a man who does not like traitors and disloyalty.

And the person infront of him, Lamt Agriche, committed a great sin to him.

"It's been a long time since I've seen your face, Nerium...", Lang smirks with a hand on his hip.

The long haired man scoffed, "You see me every year you hideous vulture," he crosses his arms.

"You and your sharp lizard tongue," Lant mocked. Jeremy coul only watch from the sidelines as the two adults glare at each other as if it was their last fight.

Amber eyes then look at him sternly, "So you're Jeremy, you look just like your mother..."

Jeremy knew that the head of the Lapises would be intimidating, but he didn't knew he would be this intimidated. This is the almighty power of your lover's father.

"Long hair suits you, boy."

Was that a compliment?

Lant sighs heavily, "Jeremy go back to your sister's room, we'll be having a talk..."

The boy could only obey, "Of course, then please excuse me. It was a pleasure to meet you, Patriarch...", He said with a polite boy and left.

"Take a seat," and so they did.

"What brings you here? If you're going to kill me for revenge for your sister then you're decades late," Lant says as he drinks his wine.

If Nerium was a person thay would roll his eyes tyen he would, but no, he's not that kind of person, so instead he took the wine bottle and poured every last drop into his glass.

"It's actually the opposite..."

Lant grunts, "Then what is it? You lizards already habe fame, money, land, power. Is there anything I can even help you with?" Lant thinks that whatever Nerium might thinking must be about how the Lapises would crush the Agruches.

Because there is no way that Nerium does not harbor hard feelings for the family who murdered his sister.

"It's about family relationships you wingless vulture," Nerium corrects.

Lang scoffs at the insult, "Just because I do not have wings, doesn't mean I can't fly. I mean, just look at you, you lizards don't have wings but you can fly!", He bursts out laughing.

Rex Lapis is a dragon, his descendants would also be one. But like him, they cn shape shift into humans which is their common appearance and it is the appearance they frequently use.

"The problem here is that you can't, while us Lapises can..."

The Agriche head grunted at that and glared at Lapis. "What do you really want, Lapis?", He asked impatiently.

Nerium chuckles and drinks the last drop of his glass. "I'm a father who loves his child. And that child happens to like yours...And well, apparently you already gave them your blessing three years ago, why don't I give them mine?"

The sound of glass shattering on the floor filled the room, Lant's eyes widened in shock and confusion. Moments later he stood up from his chair and grabbed Nerium's colar.

"You stupid Lizard, what do you think you're planning huh? Did all your power and arrogance filled your brain that you became dumb?!", He yelled in frustration.

Why is it frustrating him? Even Lant doesn't know. Maybe it's because Nerium is giving him a chance to ruin his family, or maybe it's because he thinks that Nerium is forgiving him...

He doesn't like it...

Lant Agriche feels that he shouldn't be forgiven.
