Chapter 07 : 'Brace' yourself

[ Third person POV ]

"I can do this. I can stand up for myself," Vedant told himself as he tried to get up.
"Accept defeat. This is of no use," Kshitij barked.

"Never," Vedant said as he got into a fighting stance. Kshitij and his friends were taken aback by the sudden fierce stance.

"He's just trying to scare us," Kshitij said as he charged toward him. Vedant blocked his punch and prepared to kick him in his ribs.

'YOU SHALL NOT INDULGE IN VIOLENCE.
YOU SHALL NOT INDULGE IN VIOLENCE.
YOU SHALL NOT INDULGE IN VIOLENCE.'

Vedant's head felt like it was going to burst. The same words - YOU SHALL NOT INDULGE IN VIOLENCE repeated multiple times in his brain.

What's this command?! Did someone fit it in my brain?! But why??? - Vedant thought as he fell to his knees. Kshitij was equally confused as he backed out when he saw Vedant clutch his head tightly.

ARGHHHHHH!!!!! - Vedant started to scream wildly all of a sudden. Amruta entered the scene as the screams continued.

"VEDANT!! What did you do to him?" - Vedant heard Amruta's voice but couldn't see her. His vision had already turned blur.

He fell to the ground instantly.

"What did you do to him?" Amruta asked fiercely.
"Trust me Amruta, I don't know what happened... We were just trying to scare him... We didn't even hit him in the head..." Kshitij stuttered.

Kill him.

Amruta lost control over her body as Mohini forcefully overtook it. She attacked everyone and within seconds, everyone was down. She was almost going to crack open Kshitij's head but stopped when Vedant fell to the floor unconscious.

Amruta regained the control as Mohini was distracted. She tried to wake Vedant but he didn't respond to anything.

Take him to Viz aunty.
How?

Give me the control again.

Mohini took Vedant in her arms and raced towards the library. Viz was shocked to see the unexpected guests as she threw her book aside at the sudden arrival.

"What happened to him?" she demanded.
"I don't know. But he was clutching his head when we found him," Mohini said.

"Call his cousin from 12th-B. Avni More. Maybe she knows what's wrong with him," Viz ordered.
"On it."

Mohini ran towards the standard 12th blocks and managed to find Avni. She told her about the emergency and they both got to the library in a few minutes.

Avni had a metallic bracelet in her hand. She checked Vedant's temperature and eyes before she put the bracelet in his left hand. It started to shine suddenly and almost electrocuted Vedant. He opened his eyes quickly and started scanning them all.

Avni was taken aback when she saw his glowing blue eyes. "Vedant..?"

Viz realized something and she removed the bracelet from his hand. Vedant's eyes were back to normal. "Avni Di?" he asked.

But Avni was too shocked to respond. Viz made her sit on a chair and relax as she started to check on Vedant. She checked his pulse and eyes. "You seem fine now," she commented as she finished her check-up.

"What happened to you?" she asked.
"I don't remember anything... One moment I was out there, against Kshitij and the others. The next moment I'm here," he answered.

"Where's Mo... Amruta?" Viz asked Avni. Avni just moved her head towards the science section of the library.
"I'll be back in a jiffy," Viz promised as she went to look for Amruta. She found her sitting on the floor with her wall resting on the wall. She was crying.
