Chapter 34 : Conflicts and Revelations

[Amruta's POV]

I opened my eyes to find myself on a bed. Several wires were attached to me, which ultimately were connected to the several machines that had surrounded me from all sides.

The last thing I remembered was a bolt of whole lightning crashing on me. Absurd.

"Where am I?" I muttered as I tried to get up. I felt my body burning. As if, it was on fire. That's when I realized it - it was the same bed, the same wires, the same machine.

I was at the old psychiatry department of REDZ. The yellow cube in one of the machines in front of me was glowing intensely due to something inside it.

I recognized the shape instantly. Two loops interlinked by a cross. It had a luster just like Vedant's armor had... Just like Viz Aunty's bangles...

"The Infinity!" I gasped as I recalled Dad's words.

But shouldn't it be with Vedant? Dad said he took it with him na...

Mohini??

Mohini?!!!!

I felt my heart beat faster than it possibly should. My nerves felt as if they were charged.

"Shit. Shit. Shit!" I yelled as I started to panic again. I removed all the wires attached to me haphazardly. I realized that one of them was actually an I.V. line, but it was too late.

"FUCK!" I groaned as blood started to fall drop by drop from my hand. I found a sterile cloth nearby and wrapped it around my injury and ran towards the door.

I can still do something. Have HOPE Amruta!!!

I saw a few people in white coats waiting outside the room discussing something. "She's awake! Call Dr.Gaikwad! Quick!!!" one of them raised an alarm.

I stepped back into the room and started to search for an alternative way out. I needed to get to Sejal Di as soon as possible.

Otherwise, I could lose Mohini... Forever.

Suddenly, some people in black weaponized suits barged into the room unannounced. They carried rods that discharged electrical currents from the end away from the grip.

"Miss Amruta Gaikwad, Please co-operate with us!" one of them warned.
"Okay... Okay... I don't want any trouble either. I agree to co-operate," I said as I put my hands up. "I just want to meet my elder sister - Sejal Gaikwad, please."

"I'm sorry but you aren't allowed to meet anyone for now. Please return to your bed and wait for the doctor!" he ordered as the other guards filled the room.

Mohini...

I returned to the bed and decided to wait for a while. I took a glimpse of the yellow cube that encompassed the infinity. Things didn't add up somehow. According to Dad, this should be with Vedant, and not here...

Did he hurt Vedant too? Did he erase his memory again?...

"Excuse me, I really want to see Sejal Di. It's very important," I called them. But they ignored me. It was frustrating waiting like this.

But what else could I do...

"That's it!" I gasped as I noticed that the yellow cube didn't have any lock. It was open. I quicked towards it and removed it.

"Hey! What do you think you are-" the guards yelled as they charged toward me. I took the infinity in my hand and held it against them.

All of a sudden, they all paused in their tracks and stood still like a statue. The Infinity in my hand was glowing weirdly. The yellow aura over it seemed to engulf my hand.
