Chapter 3

The rest of the day went by really slowly. I've seen Daniel in the hallways sometimes, but I've completely avoided him. I've even caught Amy smirking at me. But I was still happy about hanging out after school. Rita's and your squad can make anyone feel better.

Sixth period dragged on the longest. That class I had Amy, and Daniel. I didn't look at either of them. When the bell finally rang the whole class practically screamed. Summer break! I jumped up and ran out to the front and onto my bus. As soon as my bus stopped I got off and ran past Amy who was trying to get my attention thinking I was jealous or some crap, and I ran into my house, and upstairs to my room, through my stuff on the ground and jumped on my bed, and texted "squad" in a group conversation.

B- hey🐘

A- hey

JY- hii 🐋

N-aye

D- I'm getting my sister in a minute, but she's going to a friends house so we can drop her off there on the way! ;)

Nathan was a year older than all of us, and he had his license so he usually drives.

JY- Nathan when are you getting us.

N- I'll go from the closest house from me to the farthest like usual. First Jade. Then Brit, then Dani, then Jay, then Alex :)

I started to walk to Madis stop.

D- sounds like a plan, I'm almost to madis bus stop🐅

J- madis the sweetest little thing, I haven't seen her for like a month!

D- I know right 😌😂

N- I'm gonna start picking people up!

D- great, Madi's bus just pulled up, we'll be back in time.

N- ok.

I looked up seeing Amy grab her sisters arm and practically drag her away. Well. I walked over to Madi, and took her back pack, and we walked home. "Nathan's picking me up with the others, you're coming too, but we're dropping you off at Nicole's house, I asked mom she said it was fine. She smiled. "Thank You!" I hugged her. "Surprise!" And she laughed. Nicole was her all time best friend. We walked up the steps to our house and inside. "I'm going to go get my charger." Madi declared as she jogged up the stairs. My phone buzzed.

N- we're here dan

I smiled and called Madi down. "Madi, they're here lets go!" She ran down the stairs and we walked outside, I grabbed a house key and made sure the door was locked, Madi was already in the car.

We dropped Madi off and picked up Alex and Jay.

"Um, can I have a gelati with watermelon ice, and strawberry custard?" The lady behind the counter smiled. "Sure, anything else?"

"No that's all."

I handed her the money and took my gelati. I walked over to where everyone else was sitting at the benches. I took a seat in between Jay, and Brit.

I was fine, until I remembered what happened earlier. My smile faded. "Dani, you ok?" Jay seemed concerned. I sighed. "Daniel. He-" I stopped and I started to cry. "Did he brake up with you?!" Brit practically yelled. "N-no, I was in the hallway- a-and, he was with Amy under the - s-stairs-" I stopped because they knew what I meant. Jay hugged me, and reassured me that I didn't need him. "Don't worry about me," I said, smiling. "I'll be fine." And I meant it too.

We finished our Rita's, and started walking back to the car. I was playing 29 questions with Jade Jay and Alex. "Dammit" Nathan mumbled. We looked up at him. "What's wrong?"

"Tired flat, it'll take a while to get a spare, both of my parents are at work, I think yall should get a ride, it'll be a while." He said frowning. I pulled out my phone. Scrolling through my contacts I found my moms name and clicked the call button.

*phone rings*

M- mom

D-Dani

M- Hello?

D- hey mom, we were at Rita's and Nathan got a flat tire, he said he'd be here for a while, can I get a ride home?"

M- You're in luck, I just picked your sister up, I'll be there in a minute.

D- k. Thanks love you!

I hung up. "I got a ride."

I stated. "Me too, I'm riding with Brit, and Alex." Jade responded. "I'll stay with you Nathan, my parents are working right now, I don't have a ride so why not." Jay said plopping himself down on the ground. A car honked behind us and I turned around to see my moms white Chevrolet waiting. "See ya, we should see unfriended tomorrow!" I said enthusiastically, with a last minute idea. "Sounds good, text me when you get home," Jay said.

I hopped in the front seat of my moms car and we pulled out of the parking lot. I waved to them as I passed by on the other side of the street. "So, Rita's? And you didn't get me any? You're grounded." My mom joked. "Oh well, you should've asked!" I said as we pulled up at a red light. "Maybe we can go tomorrow!?" Madi yelled from the backseat, "yeah mom, we can!" She laughed. "Maybe..." She smirked as the light turned green. She lightly pressed the gas petal, then it all went black. I couldn't see, but I could hear screams, and metal screeching. And then nothing at all.
