ZEKE
I've just turned 18, and the pull to find my mate has grown stronger. Being the next Alpha of the pack, makes the pull even stronger than for the common werewolf. We have our own school here at the pack-village, but no one here is my mate. Mom tells me to have patience, but that's not my strong side. Dad wants me to find her as soon as possible before I take over the pack. I'll do that once I'm 20, but I've already taken over some of the responsibilities.
Two weeks ago, when my Beta and I were to the human town a few miles from the pack-village, I caught a scent. I knew that it was her, but being mated to a human complicates things. I can't just throw myself at her and mark her. She doesn't know of my world and I have to get to know her before I tell her. I made my Beta, Chris, dig up everything about her. Her name is Hope Tenley. She's an only child. She's soon to be 18, goes to the local high school and has high grades. Her dad is a co-owner of an architecture company a town over and doesn't seem to be home much. Her mom works at the local diner and seems to have a drinking problem due to her purchase of alcohol. I can smell it on her too from a long distance.
And my Hope seems to have been forgotten.
She's beautiful with her big, blue eyes that I could get lost in. They are as beautiful as the clearest ocean. But she's sad, so sad. I can't read her mind, but I can feel her emotions. I want to take it all away and make her happy, but I can't yet. I've been following her to and from school from a distance, so she hasn't seen me yet. She doesn't seem to notice other people at all, and they don't notice her. She always walks with her head down, and that pisses me off. She's my future Luna and she should be treated as such.
When she gets home every day, I watch her through her bedroom window. The lights turn on as soon as she gets home and it doesn't seem like she's anywhere but in her room. I can see her studying at her desk, but then she lays down on her bed, and it seems like she stays there.
Sometimes, I can see the light in the kitchen late at night when her parents have stopped fighting and gone to bed. I guess that's when she eats. She's really tiny and too skinny. She doesn't seem healthy, and that pisses me off even more. What kind of parents doesn't see that their child is suffering.
I talked to my dad about this and he agreed when I told him that I wanted to start in her school to be able to keep an eye on her all the time, and it will probably be easier to get to know her there than just approaching her on the street.
My dad is a fairly known businessman in the human world. He doesn't just run the pack, he has his foot in a few businesses in town too and has been donating money to the school. Making the transfer happen wasn't a problem. My Beta, Chris, and two others of my pack members, Ryan and Ben, who are also 18, also joined. Better to have more eyes.
Being werewolves, we kind of have another physique than normal boys our age. We have strength, endurance and can see and hear things that no human can. We train a lot and are built thereafter. Me, being Alpha, I'm bigger than the rest. Not that they're small either compared to the humans.
Being in this school, we have to be careful of how we act. We can't show the humans that we're different. Ryan and Ben are happy about the attention all the girls give us, but I only care about my mate, and Chris only cares about his. He found his mate in our pack a few months ago.
Being this tall and fit in a school with human boys, does something to the females. I make it clear to them that I'm not interested, even if some doesn't seem to get it. They seem to cower away a little when I start getting annoyed, though. I don't have patience for them flirting with me when I'm only for my mate, but since they're humans, they don't know that. They won't have any luck with Ryan and Ben either since they're waiting for their mates that they haven't found yet. They just like the attention.
