~El~
After a while, Max switched from crying to forcing me to watch some horror movie she likes. She lay down on the floor with her arms under her head to rest on. I'd say she looked very calm and beautiful in this position. I looked her up and down, admiring her beauty. She then turned her head to look at me, probably noticing I was staring at her. I could feel myself go red as she grinned at me. "Something wrong?" She asked. "No, of course not." I said, scooching over to her side.
I looked at the Tv, not looking over. I was a bit embarrassed she caught me staring at her but I felt something else I couldn't explain. I looked to the tv to see somebody getting chased by some weird ginger doll. "What movie is this again?" I asked, raising a brow. "Don't worry about it." Max said. I could almost hear the smile in her voice, making me smile too.
"So, El." Max said suddenly, sitting up to face me. "Yeah?" I asked, turning to her. "Why did you defend me back there?" She asked, picking at her nails. "Well you're my best friend. Of course I'd defend you." I said, smiling. Max nodded before turning back to the TV. I turned back too, feeling hot in the face again.
There was a silence between us as we watched the movie about the ginger doll that I still didn't know the name of. I should probably ask her about what Will done. I wanted to but I didn't want her to feel bad again. I turned my head to look at her, noticing she was already staring at me. "Hey-" We both said at the same time. I laughed nervously, feeling that strange emotion again.
I then noticed something on her shirt. It was barley visible but it looked like a black vein. The type of thing Billy had when he was the host. "Max what's that?" I asked, leaning in. I stuck my hand out to pull the collar of her shirt down and see what it was but Max grabbed my hand. I looked at her in surprise, noticing her eyes were widened. "Forget about it, its fine." She said quickly, trying to change the subject.
"What? Max just tell me-" I tried to say before she pulled me closer towards her. I stared into her face, feeling a range of emotions. "What are you-" I tried to say before I heard her mutter "Fuck it." She leaned her face towards mine as she softly placed her lips onto mine. My heart skipped a beat and time seemed to stop. I felt myself getting weaker. I felt a flutter in my stomach, not noticing anything else except the softness of her lips on mine. I placed my hands around her neck as she wrapped hers around my hips.
Suddenly, I felt her tense up. I frowned slightly, feeling scared I had been bad at kissing or something before she got up quickly. "Max?" I asked, laughing slightly. I still couldn't believe that had happened. "Oh god, oh god." She said, pacing the room. She ran a hand through her hair, starting to breathe more heavily. "I shouldn't have done that. Oh my god she's-" Max started saying to herself before I stopped her.
"It's fine, I didn't mind." I said, smiling. "That's not the problem! I just-" She said before stopping herself. "I have to go." She said. "What?" I asked. "I have to go." She repeated before running out the door. I stayed sitting there in the middle of the room, not sure what I was feeling. I was happy she kissed me but did this mean I like girls? Or just her. Why did she run away? Did I do something wrong?
~Max~
Oh fuck. Why did I do that? Oh my god. I'm so dumb. All to hide my stupid stab wounds or whatever they are. I cheated on my girlfriend. My secret girlfriend but my girlfriend anyways. And with this whole gate opening thing happening, I haven't even thought about her in days. Oh god. I really am a bad girlfriend. Aren't I? First I cheat on my girlfriend, then I run away from the problem I caused.
I shook my head, getting too lost in thought before realising where I had ran to. I ran to Gabby's house, wow. Great. I might as well just tell her now, yeah? Gabby's house was very close to Mike's so I didn't want to get seen. She lived near me too so she came over a lot. I walked up to the door, knocking louder than I wanted but right now I was high on adrenaline and panicking a lot. "Coming!" I heard her say from somewhere inside the house.
Eventually she opened the door, rubbing her eyes. "What is it- Oh." She said groggily, probably just waking up. "Max, why are you here?" She asked, smiling softly. "I uh.." I tried to say, not really sure how to start. "Do you want to come inside?" She asked, tilting her head slightly. "No it's fine. I just.." I shook my head. "I cheated on you." I said plainly. "What?" She asked, not understanding if I was joking or not. "I cheated on you. I didn't mean to- I just panicked and I-" I tried to say before she cut me off. "You what?" She said, her voice rising a bit. "I instantly left when I kissed her because I thought of you and-" I frowned slightly.
"You kissed 'her'? Who's 'her'?" She asked, tears filling her eyes. "I uh.. I met up with Eleven again and-" I said, my voice getting quieter. "Eleven? 'Your best friend that moved away and you were in love with' person?" She asked. I nodded once, looing down at my feet. "I can't believe you!" She says, shouting now. "I was with you this whole time, supporting you with Billy, getting over her, starting again after everything that happened last year. And you decide to cheat on me?" She shouted at me. "I know, I know! I'm a horrible girlfriend and I'm so so sorry." I shouted back, tears filling my eyes too.
"I want to make this better, I'll be better!" I pleaded. She scoffed before shaking her head. "No, I'm done with this. With you." She said flatly. "You can't even tell your friends about us. I don't want to be a secret anymore." She stated. "Then I'll- I'll tell them about us!" I begged her, but we both knew that would never happen. I was too scared to face them. What they would think about me if I came out. She shook her head, sighing. "We're over, Maxine." She sniffled. I felt my heart breaking into pieces hearing her say those words.
She never calls me Maxine. "Gabs, please-" I croaked. "I'm sorry. We're over." She replied stepping back into her house. She quietly closed the door before I heard her walking further into her house, crying. I leaned my head forward on the door, crying silently. I really am a horrible girlfriend. Oh my god, what have I done? I wiped my tears, raising my head. I went to leave before out of the corner of my eye I caught some movement. I turned to see what caught my eye when I saw somebody there. I couldn't quite tell who it was in the darkness but I noticed something in their hand.
They holding a camera, pointed straight at me.
