I looked over to Mike, wondering what he was up to. His back was facing me as he was reading a magazine on the floor. I wondered if I should try to talk to him before remembering he doesn't even like me. So why do I still care about him? It's unfair. It's so unfair. I glanced back to Mike who was now sitting up straight. He slowly got up. He seemed to be standing with actually good posture, which was unusual for him. "Mike are you okay?" I asked him. He muttered something I couldn't understand before simply walking out of the room. What a weirdo.

~Max~

I followed that idiot Amira to the steelworks. She ran around helplessly, looking for idiot number two, Stanley. We ran inside before Amira headed straight for the basement. Just as she was about to go down, I spotted something moving down there. I wasn't sure what it was since I ony saw it for a split second but there had to be something down there. Before she could go down, I grabbed her arm, pulling her back. "Max- what are you-" She tried to say. I put my hand over her mouth to get her to shut up. She frowned at me before seeming to understand and taking her hand off me. I put a lip over my finger as we slowly walked towards the stairs again.

I slowly looked down before hearing footsteps coming towards us. I grabbed Amira by the hand, pulling her and running out of the building. We stopped just outside the door, staying against the wall. I silently prayed that the person wouldn't go out of the building and catch us. The footsteps grew louder as the person went up the stairs. They got closer to the exit of the building before I heard a voice I swear I recognised. "Stop right where you are." The voice said. My heart dropped for a second, thinking it was talking to us before another voice replied.

"Who are you?" The voice shouted. This time, I knew the voice was Stanley.  "That is not important right now." Said the other voice. It sounded familiar but I don't know how. I glanced over to Amira who had her hand over her mouth to stop her from breathing loudly. "I knew you were behind all this." Said Stanley now to the mystery person. The voice laughed at his comment and that's when I realised who it was. My heart dropped, not believing it. It can't be, right?I looked slowly around the corner to see Stanley talking to someone. Someone I would never expect to be here of all places. "You're already leaving?" Said the voice, stepping towards Stanley. It was Mike.

Why was he here? How? It didn't make sense. "Uh, yeah..! I was just gonna do some errands-" Stanley said, slowly stepping back. Mike grabbed Stanley by the hand, pulling him towards him. He grabbed his neck with both of his hands. "You need to stay away from my plans." Mike told him, matter-of-factly. "Fuck. You." Stanley said to him through gritted teeth. I went to step out to help him but Amira pulled me back. "What are you doing?" I mouthed to her before I heard a twig snap somewhere near us. I stopped what I was doing, quickly scanning the area. If there was something out here, I had to get rid of it before I could save Stanley. I looked back around the door to see Stanley and Mike scuffling around, trying to throw each other to the ground.

Just as I was about to run out and help him, assuming the coast was clear, something came charging towards me, launching me to the ground. I looked up at it, quickly realising by its large pointy teeth, and wide flower shaped head, I realised it was a demo dog. I tried to shove it off me as its mouth snapped at me, trying to eat me. Amira ran to my aid, kicking it to the side. The demodog flew to the side, landing on the ground and rolling over a couple of times.

I got up quickly, just a few seconds before the demodog got up, panting. It prepared itself to jump towards us, crouching down. I reached down to my hip, pulling out a knife I had attached to the waist of my pants. The demodog jumped, flying towards me in the air. As it came towards me, I stepped to the side before jamming my knife in the side of the demodogs head. It landed on the ground, tumbling and rolling until it crashed into a tree. It slowly went limp, dying on the spot.

I stared at it, painting heavily. I turned to Amira who was staring at it in fear. Of course. She's never seen these monsters before. "Are you okay?" I asked her between breaths. She hesitated a but before nodding. I nodded once in reply before suddenly remembering about Stanley again. I ran towards the door again, hoping he was okay. When we got into the building, I stopped in my tracks.

Stanley was on the ground, a few droplets of blood on the floor beside him. His eyes were open, staring at the ceiling but it was his head that disturbed me the most. His neck was twisted to the side, in a way that didn't make sense. It seemed like his neck was completely snapped and twisted. It was disgusting to see.

Behind me, Amira let out a scream of pain as she ran towards Stanley. She dropped to her knees over his body. She let out a sob, covering her mouth. "Amira-I'm so sorry-" I tried to say to her but she raised a hand, cutting me off. "Don't. This is your fault!" She stated, her voice cold. "My fault? How the hell is it my fault?" I asked getting irritated. "Yes! If you had been faster at saving him, then he wouldn't be- be- dead!" She yelled out. "Faster? I was getting attacked by a demodog! How could I have been faster?" I shouted back, getting angry. "I don't know! Maybe if you weren't such a bitch then you would be able to actually do something with your life!" Shen yelled at me. I knew she was saying this out of rage but it still hurt me. Why the fuck would she say that?

"You know what? If it wasn't for Stanley, we wouldn't even be in this situation!" I shouted back. Amira frowned at me, standing up. "Take that back you fucking bitch." She replied, stepping towards me. I stepped towards her too so our faces were only a few inches away from each other. "Oh yeah? Make me." I told her, my voice as cold as I could make it. Amira shoved me back, making me take a few steps away from her. I did the same as her before she suddenly punched me in the jaw.

I stumbled back, holding my jaw in pain. I then charged towards her, punching her in the cheek. She fell back holding her cheek before straightening herself up. "Can we stop this?" I shouted at her. She walked towards me, frowning deeply. "This is your fault!" She yelled at me. She then shoved me back so I fell to the ground. When I landed on the ground I felt the most excruciating pain in the back of my head before everything went dark.
