CW: Alcohol use.
Max accidentally gets drunk (he didn't know his drink was that strong basically).
If Bexon had a penny for every time he was dragged to a college party he didn't want to be at, he would have two pennies, which no, it wasn't a lot but, the fact it happened twice was too much to think about given his stubbornness.
He didn't know how it happened again, or how it was somehow much worse this time since Max was there and drunk.
Bexon had no idea how he was at yet another house party, Erin had texted him asking—telling him and Max to go to this party. Bexon for some stupid reason—he blamed being too tired to realize—asked Max if he wanted to go.
A grave mistake.
"Really, Bee?!" Max asked, way too cheerful. "This would be great, Finn texted me earlier asking the same thing. We could all go together!"
"Didn't he leave you at the party the last time?"
"No, I had to walk until my mom picked me up," Max said—as if it were something totally different from what Bexon had just said.
He did seem happy about the party for whatever reason, Bexon knew how much Max had been studying and doing extra credit to help boost his grades, so much to Bexon's better judgment he told Erin he and Max would both be going to the party.
This time the house was far from what Bexon had in mind, it wasn't until he turned into the neighborhood did he realize where he was going. The big house was white and gold mostly, with more windows than anyone would ever need.
Jade and Asher had lived off and on in the house when they were on good terms with their dad—which was rare considering the man was more problematic than Bexon's father. Jade never got along with her stepmother which made her and Asher visit less and less.
While Jade had worked on herself enough to have a relationship with her family again it still didn't change the fact she made her dad sign over full custody of Asher to her when she was eighteen. Their mother was never in the picture much.
It wasn't until Asher had an accident one day when he tried to play with a stapler did things get messy. Their biological mother wasn't mentally fit and refused to try and get better.
Jade took care of Asher since they were kids so not much changed when she got custody of her younger brother.
Now, when their dad—and stepmother—were out of town they would occasionally throw a party and get all the stuck-up rich people to call the cops on them which usually ended with Jade assaulting one of the officers and Asher bailing her out.
Music was blaring from the house as Bexon parked, he made sure to get a spot where he could get out later. Outside the music was even louder and Bexon had no idea how there wasn't already a noise complaint.
Erin and Jade were of course off in their own little world while Max talked to his friend Liv about trying to find Finn—Bexon didn't know why they bothered; he didn't even know Finn but knew disappearing completely at a party was one of his only talents.
"Just because I'm his girlfriend does not mean I know where the hell he is all the time!" Liv yelled over the music.
Max covered his ears. "Why are you yelling, I am right here!"
Bexon stood there awkwardly not sure if he should pretend he wasn't (unintentionally) eavesdropping on them or if he should just go get a soda or something to distract him from having to spend several hours doing nothing but wanting to go home so he could lay in bed.
