MARLEY FELT LIKE SHE WAS HAVING AN OUTER BODY EXPERIENCE. Her mind was so jumbled on the fear of Widow committing the most deadly of offences that she was barely focusing on the now. It was difficult to get her brain to focus out of fear of suddenly blacking out and finding herself elsewhere. She hadn't even realised that she zoned out.

Her eyes had drifted to the left, staring blankly at the wall as her mind became a haze. The fear of Widow going off the rails brought her to the first time Widow had became unhinged to Marley's knowledge, there was no doubt Widow had done way worse and Marley just didn't know it.

The screams of her husband echoed through her head as she shakily looked down. Blood stained her pale skin, oozing from beneath her chipped fingernails and coating her bruises. Marley swallowed slowly, taking a shaky breath as she recalled how the law enforcement barged in with an army, each holding guns at Marley who had no clue what happened.

"I'm sorry! I didn't do it!" Her own words echoed through her head now as she recalled her desperate pleas for understanding when she was caught literally red handed. His body was at her feet. His blood was on her skin. And the knife was in her hand.

            Snap!

Marley gasped, startled by the sound. Ironically, she broke free of the trance as Adrian snapped his fingers in front of her face. It was as if he just broke her out of a hypnotic trance.

There was a shared silence, Marley blinking as she grounded herself and pushed the thoughts away. A small smile lifted onto her lips and she faked optimism. "Sorry, I zoned out..." she admitted, turning back to cords and recording device. With confusion she lifted up one of the tangled cords, pulling either end as if testing it's strength. "Can you go over what we're doing again?" Her voice was timid as she shrunk back, suddenly struck with fear.

Adrian furrowed his eyebrows, taking a slow step away. Her action made it seem as if they were too close or she was afraid of specifically him. "Are you okay?" he asked, tilting his head slowly.

"Sure! Why wouldn't I be?" Marley spat out, giving a nervous laugh.

"You zone out a lot, don't you?"

Marley wasn't sure whether she should be embarrassed or not. Instead, she looked down with a small but embarrassed smile, nodding her head in acknowledgment.

Adrian watched silently as she played with the collection of ammunition laid out in front of her, spinning the small bullet between her fingers. He plucked it from her grasp, and she pouted childishly in response. "Maybe, don't do that."
