Ty's P.O.V
"There's a dance on Friday night," David says, walking backward. I'm walking behind, waiting for him to fall, so I can laugh. "Do you think that Kali will go with me?" We are going to my house to play video games.
I don't really like video games, but my dad sends me a new one for my birthday every year, so I have them, just in case.
"What happened to Jillian?" I ask stupidly "didn't you call her your soulmate, or something?"
"She um, said something rude about Samara." He says turning around, and walking faster. I stare blankly at his back.
"What did she say?" David keeps walking and ignores me. I walk faster. "David, what did she say?" I finally catch up, and repeat my previous question.
David stops, and turns around quickly to face me, "She called her a suicidal time bomb," he says slightly shouting. "It's only a matter of time until she kills herself. Anything could tip her over the edge." He whispers the last part.
David starts walking again, and I stand alone for awhile before walking again. I catch up to David and we walk in complete silence.
Minutes later, we arrive at my house.
We walk through the door without another word. I feel too angry at Jillian to say anything. I am curios about what David said back to her though.
My mom isn't home, my dad called, and wanted to meet with her about something, and then she was going to get groceries, like she does every Monday afternoon. I didn't get why she wouldn't just talk to my dad over the phone, because he lives so far away from us, but then again, I really don't care about him.
"What game do you want to play?" I ask kicking off my shoes, and walking to the living room. David follows me. He has been to my house a couple times, so he knows his way around. Including the kitchen.
"Doesn't really matter to me." David says shrugging his shoulders, as he heads to the fridge and gets a soda.
"Want one?"
"It's my house, dude," I say looking puzzled at him. "Don't you think I should be asking you?"
"We are like brothers," he says throwing me a soda.
"Okay," I say picking a random game from the pile, "Mario Kart?"
"Yeah!" He answers, and sits on the couch. We get right into the game.
Half an hour later I shut off the gaming station.
"You suck at that game." David says stretching out on my couch, and finishing his drink.
"Yeah, I'm not very good" I admit sadly, and we get up off the couch. I walk over to the gaming station, and grab the disk from inside. I put it back in its case, and put it back on the pile.
"So, what did you say when Jillian called Samara a nutcase?" I am still curious, and I look straight into his eyes.
"Can't we just drop the subject?" He says avoiding my eyes.
"No, okay? Now what did you say?" I get serious.
"I um, agreed with her..." He says, and stares at the floor.
"Why would you do that?" I raising my voice.
"What else was I suppose to do?" He yells back at me, and shrugs his shoulders.
"Oh, I don't know, defend her!" I'm shouting now and getting closer to him. I stand right in front of him. My hands are open palmed. His are in tight fists.
