Drool dripped down Aria's cheek as she snored soundly in bed. Her red sheets were thrown across the bed, half her body off the bed, and the sun beaming down on her face. Birds chirped happily outside her window from the blissful day that awaited for Storybrooke. The beautiful day, however, contrasted to Aria's appearance that morning.
Her hair was a rat's nest from tossing and turning all night in her sleep. She was still wearing her clothes from yesterday from coming home late from her chores. She smelt like sea water and seaweed from the multiple waves she took in the face when staying out to complete her chores.
It was about midday in Storybrooke yet Aria was still fast asleep. The young blonde girl could sleep all day if she was allowed too. Yet like usual, her sleep has to be disturbed.
A loud sudden pounding knock came from her front door that startled her awake.
Aria woke up momentarily with a jolt but drifted off back to bed assuming her adopted mom would answer the door. But the pounding continued relentlessly which resulted in Aria having to get up from the comfort of her bed.
Her eyes fluttered open and she yawned loudly, rolling over with a groan she pinched her eyes shut from the terrible light. She always hated mornings as much as she hated getting older. The pounding continued at her front door and she sat up, rubbing her eyes tiredly wondering who would be in such a rush. She stood up, ignoring the beating that her front door was getting. Taking her time, she threw on a hoodie and tied her hair up to fix her appearance slightly.
Walking down the steps that creaked under her feet, she realized that Ms. Barrie wasn't home. If she was, she would have opened the door and scold whoever was on the other side for making a ruckus. Perhaps she went to the market or decided to work early today. Whatever the reason didn't matter, Aria could care less of her presence.
Walking to the front door, the yawned again and opened it up to reveal a scared Regina Mills. Her face was paler than usual, her eyes wide in terror, and her outfit consisted of a few wrinkles. The appearance was very unusual for the towns Mayor but Aria was too tired to notice.
Regina rushed past Aria and into the home, earning an eye roll from the blonde. "Come on in." She mumbled sarcastically under her breath, closing the door behind the mayor. She turned to face the woman seeing her looking around the house panicked. Searching for something within the walls.
"Henry. Is he here?" She asked quickly and nervously, spinning around to face the teenager..
That got Aria's attention.
Aria's eyes widened and she suddenly felt wide awake. Her head shook and she walked closer to the mayor cautiously. "I haven't seen him since yesterday at Granny's." She explained honestly. Regina sighed anxiously but nodded in thanks for the information. She went to move to the front door but Aria stepped in her way, stopping her from exiting. "What is going on? Why are you searching for Henry?" Aria asked worriedly.
Regina sighed seeing the stress appear on the teenage girl. She knew the relationship between Aria and Henry was a brotherly/sister relationship and she admired it. Regina knew how much Henry struggled with friend and having Aria in his life was the perfect idol he needed. It was only that Aria knew what was going on before she poked her nose into something she shouldn't.
"Henry was missing from his bed this morning." Regina breathed out. "I-I didn't think much of it until I found a letter. He wrote a brief letter explaining he would back in a few days. But I don't know where he would go other than to your house." She explained nervously.
Aria's mouth fell agape, staring at the mayor speechless at the news. First, she was worried about Henry's safety. The boy was still so young that he shouldn't wonder the streets alone, let alone go on a trip alone. Then, Aria felt anxious. She knew immediately of the one place Henry would go that would require him to be M.I.A. for a few days with no contact.
