"What do you mean, Ouranus? Lydia we haven't heard from the Ouranus at this camp.. I don't think ever." Chiron was pacing outside the big house, talking to the girl who had come into the pinochle room in tears, Allison right beside her, seeming quite shocked at her best friend's story.
"I mean Ouranus, I wouldn't lie about this and Tereus, Prokne, and Philomela came in my dream last night. I need to speak with the oracle." Lydia was quite persistent, and upon hearing this, Chiron was convinced. He led the two girls into the big house so they could speak to Mr. Finstock briefly and then he told them to follow him to a cave. Once there, Chiron and Allison waited outside as Lydia went in.
At first the cave was dim, only lit with an occasional torch, but once she reached the dead end, she saw the interior of what looked like a regular house. Well, it was still quite dim still but there was what looked like a table and a few plush couches. As she was standing there examine the furnished cave home, a woman in her thirties or forties stepped out and saw the girl.
"Hello." She said and Lydia jerked up to look at her. She had bouncy red curls that extended past her shoulders down to just above her mid back. Freckles dotted her face and a pair of black rimmed glasses sat on her nose.
"Oh uh hi. I'm Lydia Martin... Daughter of Athena." Lydia scrambled to introduce herself and the woman nodded.
"I knew you'd be coming by soon," the woman spoke with a warm tone. "I'm Rachel, the oracle. Well, come on, I know we must get into the specifics of a new crazy prophecy. I thought I'd be dead by the next big one but I guess the gods still haven't gotten over me crashing this place." The woman was mumbling words and Lydia was quite confused, but she followed the woman around a curve in the cave and down a short tunnel which opened into what looked like a kitchen area. There was a refrigerator, a sink, an oven, and a stove. Lydia tried not to dwell on how there'd be such services in a cave because she knew basically anything was possible with the gods on speed dial.
"Okay, dear, sit here." She pulled out a chair to a kitchen table and then walked to the oven, pulling out fresh baked cookies and waking back to the table. After Rachel was seated opposite to Lydia, she spoke again. "Okay Lydia, I need the details of why you're here."
Lydia smiled politely before explaining her dream of the three birds. Rachel would occasionally nod, but her forehead was quite creased by the end of it.
"Lydia, something is going to happen to me in a second where my eyes glaze over and I give a new prophecy so don't freak out but-" she stopped talking as what she said happened. Her eyes glazed over, she leaned her head back and green smoke started to outline the words she spoke.
"Thrice they warned, while new campers arrived
The gods will be helpless while the children will strive
To defeat a father of the heaven and skiesThe twelve on a quest to regain someone's trust
To recover something missing at a great cost
And save all humanity with a God who was crossed"The smoke disappeared and Rachel's eyes returned to normal. Lydia was very confused, all of the prophecy's words spiraling around in her head, her trying to think of what it all could mean. 12 people. Was she one of them? Who were the others? How would they even complete this prophecy, it was all so confusing.
"Lydia, are you okay?" she heard Rachel's voice and realized how distant she must seem. After shaking her head softly, she turned to the redhead and attempted a smile, even with the insane thoughts floating around her head.
"I'm fine Rachel." She said, but in her head, everything was going haywire, trying to think of a way this would work out. Trying to think of even the possibility that this could work out.

Scott was in his cabin, reading a book on sword fighting, when he heard a knock. He hopped from the top bunk and opened the door to a red puffy eyed Kira. Instantly Scott's mouth dropped open, confused as to why she would be crying.
"We need to talk." Her voice came out scratchily, making her appearance get that much worse.
"Kira, what's wrong?!" Scott was beginning to think of reasons why Kira would be upset and he cringed with guilt at what had happened the day before.
Confirming his beliefs, she let out a small sob before continuing. "I know about you kissing someone else." She surprisingly said it while pulling her shoulders back and composing herself, even with a tear streaked face she looked strong. Scott felt he didn't deserve her, she was beautiful and strong and she didn't cheat, but he did. He kissed Allison, and the saddest part was that he felt a bigger spark than what he felt with Kira and it made him feel like he wasn't good enough for either of them. He could've properly ended his and Kira's relationship without the deceit.
"Kira, I'm so sor-" but the girl held up a hand and Scott stopped.
"I don't want to hear it Scott. I can't do this anymore. I loved you but I love you more like a brother or best friend. I can't explain but it's different now." She looked down at the floor and Scott spoke.
"You will always be my best friend, Kira. We never should've gotten into a romantic relationship and I hope it didn't ruin our friendship. Plus, I just saw a blush, so I'm pretty sure you were going to break up with me anyway. I hope you are happy with whoever he is." Scott was smiling reminiscently.
Kira coughed before mumbling,"she" and Scott barely caught it but it did catch him off guard.
"Whatever makes you happy, Kye." Scott kissed her forehead softly and she walked out. He had to admit, he was stunned at what just happened.
He was definitely sad that it probably wouldn't be the same between the two now, but glad they were honest and that it wasn't a relationship in the way of something that might be better for both of them.
