Rabbitspring's Fate

{*Chapter 10*}

When Rabbitspring got home, her sister raced to her.

" Rabbitspring!" She purred.

Rabbitspring nuzzled her littermate. Rabbitspring didn't notice how much she had missed her littermate until she was with her again in the clans camp with her.

" Oh! Rabbitspring, guess what!?" Mapleflash purred loudly.

Rabbitspring tilted her head at her sister. " What? Did you get an apprentice?"

Mapleflash shook her head violently. " Nope! Even better! I'm expecting kits!"

Rabbitspring's eyes widened. " What!?"

Mapleflash smiled brightly.

Rabbitspring nuzzled her sister again. " Congratulations!"

" They will be great leaders,'' a deep voice made Rabbitspring jump.

Redclaw sat next to her sister, his tail around her.

Rabbitspring almost puked. How could Mapleflash become mates with Redclaw!? Worst of all, how could she bare his kits!? Rabbitspring shook the thought out of her head mewing,

"Congrats." again and smiled, "What else have I missed while I was gone?" She laughed. Mapleflash shrugged,

"Not much, just that Ravenfeather is expecting Crowstar's kits." she mewed. Rabbitspring's eyes went wide,

"I have to go see her!" Rabbitspring mewed, rushing into the nursery. Reavenfeather lifted her head, then smiled as she saw it was Rabbitspring.

"Good to see you back in camp." Ravenfeather purred. Rabbitspring nodded,

"Congrats on the kits." Rabbitspring smiled at her former mentor. Ravenfeather nodded,

"Maybe Tigerwhisker has waited long enough." she mewed. Rabbitspring then tilted her head,

"What do you mean by that?" she asked.

"Can't you see Tigerwhisker loves you?" Ravenfeather asked, "I think you should take him on as a mate, you don't need to be a warrior till you die, you can have kits." Rabbitspring nodded, looking to the ground,

"I'll think about it, as much as I love being a warrior, I think it would be good for me to have a mate." Ravenfeather smiled,

"Now go back into the clearing, go on a border patrol if you're well enough, don't get into any battles too soon though." Rabbitspring nodded padding back into camp, seeing Tigerwhisker smile at her. Her pelt then began to feel somewhat warm, Ravenfeather spoke like a medicine cat sometimes, sounding so wise when she had only been a warrior for 7 moons now. Rabbitspring took a deep breath and picked up a sparrow, padding over to Tigerwhisker.

"I bet you're hungry." Tigerwhisker smiled. Rabbitspring nodded,

"They were practically starving me." Rabbitsping mewed, taking a few bits out of the sparrow. Tigerwhisker nodded and opened his mouth as if he was going to say something, then didn't.

"What is it?" Rabbitspring asked him, tilting her head. Tigerwhisker looked nervous, which he never really got nervous,

"I was wondering if you would...." He paused.

"If I would, what?" Rabbitspring asked patiently.

"If... you would..." Tigerwhisker took a deep breath, "If you would be my mate." He finished, looking at his paws. Rabbitspring's pelt started to feel warm, she didn't get any time to think about what Ravenfeather had said, she then purred rasping her tongue around Tigerwhisker's ear, making him look up,

"Of course, Tigerwhisker. I wouldn't want anyone else as my mate." Rabbitspring smiled.
