Rabbitspring's Fate

{* Chapter 14*}

Rabbitspring felt her belly flip upside down, Tigerwhisker stood beside her, glaring at the DawnClan warriors with cold eyes. A grey tabby she with black markings and blue eyes stepped forward and mewed,

"I will help MapleClan, I want to help the father of my kits. I would like to call myself a loyal warrior of MapleClan." The she mewed.

"Skychaser!?" A voice gasped, it was a light grey tabby she with white markings who called out,

"You didn't tell me?!" Skychaser sighed and padded up to Rainbreeze and mewed,

"You're going to be a father." She purred, pressing her muzzle to his.

"Awww so cute." Willowleaf mewed sarcastically, then looked at Tigerwhisker with suspicious eyes, "You know who killed Flurrysky, don't you?" She hissed. Rabbitspring's ears flattened and she hissed, she didn't want to fight, but she would have to to protect her clan and her unborn kits. Willowleaf was looking at MapleFlash and Ravenfeather's kits, who had no idea what was going on and we're still playing near the nursery. Rabbitspring saw her jump and then Rabbitspring pounced onto Willowleaf to stop her from hurting the kits. Then a full out war began, Willowleaf disappeared into the crowd of fighting cats and Rabbitspring got her sister and her former mentor into the nursery with their kits. Rabbitspring was exhausted, but she was going to fight like a warrior, no way was she going to hide in the nursery, she had to protect the nursery. She saw Redclaw and let him go into the nursery, while Ravenfeather then bolted out and helped Crowstar fight a few warriors off. Rabbitspring then waited a bit and looked into the nursery seeing all the kits huddled together in the corner of the nursery and Redclaw standing in front of Mapleflash, who was bleeding. Her eyes widened and she pounced on Redclaw and hissed,

"I knew you were no good, how dare you try to kill my sister." And with that she sliced his neck, seeing the life drain from his eyes, and all Rabbitspring did was scoff at his dead body and rush to her sister's side.

"R-Rabbitspring, Redclaw wasn't the father to my kits...it....it is Frostmuzzle...''Mapleflash rasped, the life slowly draining from her eyes.

"No, Mapleflash, stay with me, you're just tired. Get some rest, you'll be alright in the morning..." Rabbitspring mewed, tears welling in her eyes as she could smell the scent of death on her sister. Mapleflash's kits slowly made there way to their mother,

"Mom?" Faultkit mewed, all three of the kits pressed to their mothers fur, while Rabbitspring wrapped her tail around them protectively.

"So Redclaw wasn't our father?" Tawnykit asked Rabbitspring.

"Redclaw wasn't your father, and he deserves to go to NightClan." Rabbitspring mewed, agreeing to Tawnykit. Ravenfeather then came back into the nursery to see Redclaw and Mapleflash dead.

"I killed Redclaw, only because he killed Mapleflash..." Rabbitspring answered her, pressing her muzzle to her sister one last time then padded out of the nursery and spotted Willowleaf, Rabbitspring charged at Willowleaf biting her neck and ran into the bunch of fighting cats. Rabbitspring looked at the clearing and hissed she saw Talonbreaker, she thought about fighting him then she shook her head and backed away with a sad expression on her face and went to find her mate. Tigerwhisker bumped into her and let out a sigh of relief,

"I'm so glad you're alright!" He purred then guided her to the nursery where he saw the bodies of Mapleflash and Redclaw, and Rabbitspring explained what happened. He nodded and went back out to finish the fight, when Rabbitspring tried to follow him he mewed,

"No, you can help protect the clan by staying safe. I don't want you to get hurt." Rabbitspring nodded, sitting in the nursery looking out of the entrance to watch. Rabbitspring saw an apprentice and remembered that her name was Foxpaw, the young apprentice was battling Tigerwhisker but she didn't look scared her eyes were moony. Tigerwhisker had pinned her to the sandy ground and was going to kill her when Foxpaw mewed something and Tigerwhisker growled, but let the apprentice run out of the camp. The rest of the DawnClan warriors ran out of camp with the bodies of some of the warriors left behind.

Rabbitspring carefully walked out and padded up to Tigerwhisker,

" What did she-"

" Clan meeting!"

Rabbitspring was the slowest, and last, to gather below, heavy with kits.

" I have some sad news," Mewed Crowstar, standing boldly on top of his rock.

" We have lost some warriors today. Hootsky, Talctail, Bronzeberry, Redclaw, Mapleflash, Willowfern, Eaglepaw have joined the ranks of AuroraClan. We have also lost two of our elders, Icetooth and Plantvine. We will sit vigil for them at moonhigh."

Rabbitspring felt sick to her stomach. All of those warriors lost.

Rabbitspring turned to look at Tigerwhisker with a frown.

Just before she could say anything, the world went black and the ground crashed into her.
