Mondays. The day which people hated the most. Even Minjeong. Plus knowing it's her first day of school, it made her feel even worse. She felt her anxiety come to her mind but quickly fought it as she started doing her morning routines. Thirty minutes later, she walked downstairs and saw her mom already prepared her breakfast. She greeted her mom by kissing her cheek and sat next to her."Took you long enough to get ready." Taeyeon chuckled.
"Well, I have to make a good first impression to everyone."
"Minjeong, you don't need to do that. Everyone will eventually love you, just like in LA." She reassured her but Minjeong shook her head.
"That was LA mom, This is Salt Lake. It's different." She reminded her.
"Don't let your anxiety ruin your first day, Jeong-ah. You can do it." She suddenly came from behind Minjeong and ruffled her hair.
"Thanks guys." She smiled at them.
Fifteen minutes later, Minjeong found herself outside her house and went to her new school with her skateboard. Using her skateboard, it took around twenty to thirty minutes to finally
arrive at her new school.East High School. Salt Lake City.
Minjeong was amazed by how huge the building is. She walked nervously and her guess was right. People were eyeing her from head to toe, curious about who she is. She thought this school would be different than the ones in LA, but turned out it was just the same. As she expected, the majority of the girls there who had seen her drooled over her. Some girls made a bold move by winking and waving at her, but all she can do was just smile. She felt uncomfortable, but it's better
than ignoring people, since she didn't want to be judged by the people there. Her first destination was the administration office and what she wanted to do was just to randomly ask people where it was but the fact that
people gave all their attention to her made her uncomfortable, but that changed when she froze. Someone recognized her and called her name."Minjeong? Kim Minjeong? Is that you?"
That voice.
So familiar.
She turned around and there she was.
Shin Ryujin. Her childhood best friend.
Ryujin ran to her and gave her a tight hug. Both were so happy to finally meet each other. They pulled away and grinned at each other.
"Man, it really is you." Ryujin chuckled.
"It really is me. Wow Ryujin you've toned up."
"I know right. The football here helped a lot."
"Nice. Are you like important in the team or...?"
"I am." She responded, "Okay but enough with the chit chat. When did you get here? Why did you move back again? How are you? How's Aunt Taeyeon and Tiffany?"
"Whoa there, slow down."
"Sorry, I'm just too excited."
"Anyways, I got here friday. Moved back because ma got moved back again here. I'm great. Ma's great and so is mom. Now how are you? How's Aunt Jennie and Uncle Lisa?"
Ryujin's face dropped when Minjeong asked that. Before Minjeong moved to LA, everything was still perfect, until Ryujin was thirteen and her step sister came to her life.
———————Flashback———————
It was the day Ryujin will finally meet her new step sister. She was very excited, she even bragged it to her friends. They only laugh at her and felt happy because they knew how much Ryujin wanted to have a sibling, especially a sister. When Jennie had a miscarriage, she felt really sad and tried to let it go. But when she knew she will have a sister, she was too excited.
