"Come on, Lee! Let's go! Quickly!" Master Amir instructs Ghaafar Lee who is holding the line countering fire against their enemies. "We should leave now! They are outnumbering us!" Master Amir emphasizes again that they should retreat.

"Go on! If I let go, they will rush against us! I will hold them off!" Ghaafar Lee insists on holding the line. "Either way, it'll be risky so let me do this!" He is still countering fire with the Gurkha police.

"It's no use to- HOLY!" Master Amir is assaulted from behind. There is an enemy that managed to get behind them, attacking from there. The Nepalese-Gurkha man has pointed his rifle right at Master Amir giving the latter a view of death.

"BANG!" The man got shot, falling right onto the ground. Master Amir was shocked. Looking behind, it was Ghaafar Lee who shot the man, saving Master Amir's life. It is fortunate that Ghaafar Lee was very focused the whole time. He has the instincts of a spider, we shall say. "Got him, let's go now!" They start to run away from the scene, retreating away from being attacked. It is very certain that backup units will arrive just anytime now. So, they better be off.

They planned this attack very precisely. For weeks, they did research on every possible aspect. The Geographical situation, area security planning and even the schedule of activities on the planned day of attack. Everything was well-planned. From the side of preparedness in terms of technicality of arms is also included. They got their ammunition from their usual suppliers who smuggled from a Dutch Trader in Sumatran Island. Rifles are also inspected and maintained to be at their best performance.

For Ghaafar Lee, this was an important mission. It might not have been his first, but it is definitely his most important one. He trained for months with Suri Kenanga. Although physically torturing, having Suri Kenanga training him, his mind is very eased. Although not knowing why, the feelings are there to be felt whenever there is Suri Kenanga within his optical view.

Back to the mission, they targeted a British Offi cer in Hulu Selangor, named Mr. Charles. He was the main antagonist for this mission. Have him dead, that will be it. And yes, they did it. Because of this one man named Charles, many Malayans, disregarding their ethnicities and background, have been hanged to death. Many innocent family members lost their loved ones because of him.

Those who refused his order and instruction will suffer. Many of them are among those who work at the rubber plantations or tin mines. Those who are already suffering and struggling just to make a living. He makes them work day and night. If not working in their scopes, they will work for his greed. Cleaning and constructing stuff like hut or tent to shelter him from the tropical heat, although not their scope, are done by them, as he ordered.

As he refused to pay for their labours, he used dirty tactics. Many were brought to the court, being charged for crimes they did not do. Not surprisingly of course, almost all of them were convicted and sent to jail. Many of the people who worked under him lost mysteriously, not knowing where their existence was. Rumours spreading say that those who were missing are just killed and thrown into the river. There is nothing that the people could do. Lodging a police report is useless. No further action will be taken by the police. Who would trust these rubber tappers and tin miners over a respected British Offi cer?

Therefore, one way to eliminate this abuse over the people in Hulu Selangor, someone has to step up. Thus, the White Mask stepped into the scene and started planning to stop this Englishman from abusing the people there. There is only one way then, to eliminate Mr. Charles as a whole himself. He should cease from ever existing and only then, the unwanted sufferings would halt, for a while at least. They ambushed him and he was killed, shot on his chest. While, the White Mask managed to retreat from the scene, able to avoid being arrested, or in this case being shot to death.

REWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO ALL INFORMANTS

That is the article written on the first page of the newspaper this morning. Master Amir shakes his head slightly. Looking at the hypocrisy of the Colonial Government here, it is rather saddening. They can do all the terrors in the name of free world and cleansing, and when the people try to act the same in order to be free, they call it an act of terror. Why is it with the double standard here?

The White Mask now needs to draft a new strategy for their movements. Might they need to move underground? That is for Master Amir to ponder. He is the leader of the group and as a leader, that is what he does besides protecting his men. With the government being more oppressive than ever, it is the time for them to be more aggressive as well. Attacking the government in guerilla tactics would damage them by lots, in a long term.

"What are you reading, sir?" Ghaafar Lee just appears out of blue. He asks in a curious tone seeing Master Amir being so serious reading the article from the newspaper. "Any good news for today?" He asks again.

"Look at this, Lee..." Master Amir passes the newspaper to Ghaafar Lee. Reading it, the latter's eyes become so roundy and in shock. Who would have thought that a small group like them would threaten the government, or the biggest empire in the world to be exact. "What do you think? We have to do something about this." Master Amir resumes.

"Let's not bow down. We should be more aggressive against these abusive and oppressive colonizers." Ghaafar Lee giving his opinion regarding that issue. "Although the army is very selective in choosing their personnel, I'd believe that its quality isn't even up to our standards. Yes, they might outnumber us, but, in no way that they are going to beat us on the actual field." He elaborates.

"Why not?" Master Amir asks out of curiosity what Ghaafar Lee had just said. Ghaafar Lee always thinks like an intellectual, thinking it far and out of the box, although being irrational of his decisions sometimes.

"Although being selected from among the best men in the country, trained to be an elite, and being taught the doctrine of a warrior, they don't have the heart to fight for this country, to die for this country." He explains. "My friends were accepted into the army..." He speaks of his two good lads, Ismail Wallace and Clyde Watson.

"Then, why didn't you join the army as well? The pay is good and you will live your whole life with such prestige!" He asks.

"I did! They rejected me! And my friends, Ismail and Clyde, were accepted? Why, they are literally the same as me. Weak physiques, similar mentality and background. The only difference is that they are both of English descent. Just because they are English, the army accepted them? And because I am of Malay-Chinese descent, a native, the army denied my entry? Is it, sir? Is it?" Ghaafar Lee is getting a bit emotional. "The double standard here is clear, sir. It's very crystal clear!" Ghaafar Lee resumes.

"That's the reality of living under colonial rule, Lee." Master Amir tries to calm him down. The conversation made between them should remain calm. Such negativity would ruin one's morning. "This is why we fight for freedom, for democratic and independent country." Master Amir resumes. "Just that one day, I hope, my dream will come true, even when I am no longer here living on this earth." Master Amir ends it there.

"I am sure, one day, this Malaya will be a free country..."
