CRAM Chapter 22-How Many Celebrations? (Part 2)

I grabbed the box from the pocket of my tuxedo. This is it. It's now or never.

I went out of the van and saw our parents giving me an encouraging smile and a thumbs up.

I peeked and saw Lucy and—wow. She's... beautiful. Nice job, Levy, Erza, and Juvia.

I went infront of the stage and grabbed the microphone. "Lucy Heartfilia. Come up on stage. I have something for you."

She went up, her face showing that she's bashful about this. I smiled and told her quietly, "Don't be embarassed. I'm right here. I have to do and say something in front of these people." I know she's now curious.

"Good evening, everyone. Thank you for coming to our birthday party." The crowd clapped after I spoke.

"Anyways, everyone, I hope you would all watch this."

A video flashed on the screen behind me. Lucy glanced behind her as well.

"Lucy, Natsu. Happy 18th birthday! It was good that you two found your own happiness. I'm sorry I couldn't make it on your birthdays. I sent a gift there to make it up to you guys. It's not a debut for Lucy-chan right there, but I know you're having fun." Lucy's grandmother smiled. I saw Lucy wipe a tear before glancing to the screen again. I know dhe missed her grandmother. A lot.

"Lucy. Happy birthday! Also Natsu-kun!" It was my little niece! Cute.

"Natsu, Lucy happy birthday. This is your handsome cousin, Zeref. Have a bright future!" It's Zeref... actually, he's just a fake cousin of mine. We're just best friends as well.

"Natsu. Lucy. Happy birthday! Aye sir!" It was Happy. He was currently standing next to me, chuckling and giggling. I patted his head lightly.

The next ones came from my other friends and relatives. I just smiled at them like Lucy.

What came next after Pantherlily was me. Hah. This is for you, Lucy.

"Lucy. Happy birthday to us! We've been through a lot of things. Time flies fast, huh? It's been a month since we were in a relationship. You're still that funny and pretty girl I've always known all my life. Thank you for understanding me when I'm troubled. Sorry if sometimes I was irritating and childish. You know it's my nature and it will never change, right? Hahahaha. Hm. Next week, we're going to graduate from highschool.

"Anyways, I just want you to know that I love you very, very, very much. I still love food more than you though. Kidding. So—"

The video was cut. Lucy frowned. She thought that something was wrong about the video. She was about to go down when I held her wrist. I kneeled before her and grabbed her hand. "Lucy, will you marry me and live with me forever?" I showed her an engagement ring. There's a precious little diamond on it. Confetti popped out of nowhere. It took her time to process what I said, and when she finished, she gasped.

She cried. Cried tears of joy. I expected it. This was so unexpected. On the day of our birthday I proposed to her. She's probably thinking the words How sweet right now.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" She exclaimed as she hugged me tightly with all her might. I embraced her back. I can feel her warmth and tears in my tuxedo.

Suddenly, I heard people fangirl (yeah, even some men.). They did a loud clap and a standing ovation. It was a blissful night.

We climbed down the stage and everyone congratulated us.

"Wow, happy birthday and have a blessed marriage! Congrats! You two are engaged! So you can also call this event an engagement party, huh?" Sting bro-fisted me. Yukino fangirled and shook Blondie hard. Actually, I already have fixed tgings with them a few days ago.

"Well, it's a success!" Lisanna and Bickslow smiled at us. "Congrats!" I laughed and thanked them.

People were now going out of the park.

Lucy passed by the shaded part of the park, with me beside her, when suddenly I heard Gajeel's voice. He was talking to Levy. Lucy pulled me carefully so they wouldn't notice us. I guess she heard it too.

"Ano... Levy..." Is this it? Is Gajeel going to confess to Levy?

"Nani (what), Gajeel?"

"Couldyoubemygirlfriend?" He spoke too fast but I still understood it. Lucy gasped, so I covered her mouth. They might notice us and the moment might be ruined.

"... Sure." Now Lucy couldn't help it. She struggled against my hand and jumped out from hiding and screamed like there was no tomorrow.

"Scream with me, fangirls!!" She yelped excitedly.

"L-Lu-chan? Natsu?"

"Bunny girl?! You were listening the whole time!? Natsu too?" She nodded eagerly and jumped around in joy. I just shook my head playing innocent.

"Wee! Wee! Wee! Congratulations! Finally, Gajeel! You got the courage!! Wee! Wee! Wee!" She csn see me; my eyebrows were twitching. But she doesn't care.

"She's crazy." She heard me (I think) murmur, shaking my head and smiling widely. I chuckled.

"Thanks, Lu-chan."

"You know what, Levy-chan, now that you think about it, we have many celebrations. First, it's mine and Natsu's birthday. Second, it's our friendsary. Third, Natsu proposed to me; now we're engaged. Fourth, Gajeel asked you to be his girlfriend and you agreed. Fifth, we're all together right now and happy!"

"I suppose... you're right." Levy laughed all of a sudden. Her laugh was so contagious we can't help but laugh along with her.
