aren't promises lies
that you want to keep
aren't havens unreal
so they can deceive?aren't people dispensable,
nothing more than tools and toys
aren't they predictable
and attention decoys?isn't love a lie
to cherish is to regret
is this poem the belie
of the things we fret?- aren't your words lies too?
