Ian awoke to a start. He'd stretched and promptly fell down the tree. Luckily for him, small body means less fall damage and his body was also tougher than the normal. His injured leg wasn't happy about it, though. His makeshift bandage was soaked with his green blood so he changed it with a new one. To his surprise, his damaged chitin was halfway done with healing but his injured flesh was still not quite there. He decides to rip off the branch he slept on to use it as a crutch. It was way taller than him so he cuts it to a third of itself, perfect for a 4"5 bug monster girl."I hope I don't get ambushed again. Urrgh." Ian grimaced, due to his leg acting up and realizing how thirsty he was. Even with a crutch, his wounded foot still aches quite bad. If he moves his foot higher so it doesn't touch the floor with every step of his crutch, it flares up until he relaxes but if he relaxes, his foot touches the ground and his leg aches."Curse my instincts and its lack of self-preservation."
He reaches a bunch of rocky hills and climbs the highest one just to check if he's still on the right track. Turning was difficult with his injury but he manages. Ian tch'ed, finding that he's been going the wrong way and now the plains is off to the east. At least he got closer to it when he was still on the right track. By the looks of things, he'd reach it after more than 12 but no more than 20 hours of walking, taking his breaks, meals in account and injured pace in account. Web slinging was out of the question for numerous reasons like his inexperience, injury and the uneven alignment of the trees.
Swallowing his disappointment, he starts making his way for the plains. 2 hours later, he found a spring that leads to a big cave to the right, its entrance facing away from him. It was perfect. Shelter, water and food through the animals that grazed here like wolpertingers and their cousin jackalope, eikþyrnir-looking deers, hippogriffs, and beavers with crocodile heads, not missing their overbites and tails. He marked his current position by webbing the area around him. Before checking out the cave, he drank the water and found it better than the first river he found. The best part was the coolness of the water. Now properly rehydrate, he goes to check out the cave. His night vision tells him that it was a pretty big cave with a spring inside. A place he would happily call his base for now if it weren't for the pack of 20 werewolves inside that were either sleeping, eating or just lazing around. He spent the next minutes planning to take them out. He would like to just go in there and discharge a massive amount of electricity, burning them all to ashes but he'd like to eat them.
He had a plan that, if he could execute a specific move, would work. He lets his electricity flow through his arms and focuses on what he wanted it to come out as. Spotting a random gopher eating some roots, he focuses on holding back the electricity and only expelling the heat of it.'Come on, please work!' Ian pleads to his body, hoping it has the ability to do so. He sits down, places his crutch behind him before he aims his hands at the gopher and fires an intense heatwave that could cook things alive in just a few seconds. It worked, the gopher screeching in agony for a second before silencing as it dies from being cooked alive. Its fur was burned away, leaving the gopher completely naked. Ian walks over to the cooked rodent, picked it up and blew on it before taking a bite."That was a lot harder to do than I imagined but I guess I can manage."
A few minutes later, only bones, the digestive and renal system were left. That's just disgusting. He's not willing to find out if those organs are empty."How can I eat so much and only feel normal? First, I ate the entire torso of that werewolf, then I ate a bunch of winged Weta-rexes before stripping the meat from 6 tiger-sized predators and ate almost half of another. I shouldn't even be able to walk from being so full. My body sure is weird." he remarks to himself after his observation. He tries a wider variation of his searing heatwave attack. His control over the attack was almost not enough. Tiny licks of lightning were being released and Ian was struggling so hard to not turn it into a full-blown lightning attack. His resulting attack did manage to cover over twenty meters forward and had an effective width of five meters. Ian was left panting from the intense focus he had to give to control that attack.
