Ian gulped and made his way to the mountain. He should just get this over with. The sudden emptiness of the field, the dark clouds and the ashes that came from nowhere did nothing to help ease Captain Ian Sparrow (His instincts made from a figment of his imaginations, if you can't remember.) and by proxy, him. His hunters sensed his unease and followed him closer while keeping a vigilant watch for danger.
Another earth-shaking roar blasted wind across the lands. Ian heard the sound of titanic wings flapping and saw the dragon in all its glory. Steel-like scales as black as night, slightly reflective of light, one left red eye that looked surprisingly human with its right eye missing, a crown of horns and front paws just as good at holding as human hands and a tail with a mace-like end were its most unique features. Its size was nothing to scoff about as it was easily five meters tall and ten times as long. How could he tell how its eyes looked? Because ot was already in front of him. The dragon did not have showing off in its mind. The scariest part about it is its state of decay. Patches of its metal scales had rust, claws or even fingers and toes missing, lips decayed to show its teeth with some missing as well.
Even in its state of decay, it was capable of showing such power and influence over its surroundings with just a roar. The strangest thing about the dragon is the massive greatsword that looked more like a stone carving of one sticking on the middle of the top half of its snout.
Its breath rasped out and Ian finally got why it roared in such a strange way."You're sick, aren't you?" Ian didn't expect the dragon to understand but it actually did! It nodded solemnly."I thought those were battle scars. I guess as the only strong one around..." Ian prepared a grand lightning spear."...its my duty to put you down!"
The dragon bellowed out a roar in response as Ian kept his stance low. The dragon's roar transitioned flawlessly into a sideway chomp that would have turned him into green mist if it weren't for him diving forward and getting trapped in its mouth instead. He didn't hesitate in driving his lightning spear downwards and exploding it. The brief flash allowed him to clearly see the other end of the dragon's greatsword. He didn't have the chance to think about it as he was spat out.
He landed in a heap outside.'Luckily, that dragon is so big, my clothes aren't dripping in slobber.' he gets up and faces the dragon with grim determination before an excited smile broke out.'I went in a dragon's mouth!' then he realizes what he just did.'Holy crap, I nearly got eaten by a dragon!'
Ian gathers his composure, just like the dragon. As it looks at him, it roars before it was interrupted, slightly rocked by something. He stood confused when he saw lines of webs attaching them to the dragon's sides. Following those lines, he found his hunters pulling themselves to the dragon at breakneck speeds while lightning form extensions of their claws.
The dragon grunts as the hunters slashed at his sides. No actual damage was done, however. It easily shakes off the hunters who are now trying to break through its scales. It flaps its wings twice, once to add momentum to jump higher and once to make it crash down to the ground faster, creating a shockwave that kicks up a cloud of dust."To me!" the hunter drones immediately ran to his side.'Right on time, too.' he thought with satisfaction when he saw the green fumes quickly replacing the dust clouds.
The dragon roars in effort as it closes the distance between itself and Ian in an instant while bringing down a claw to squash him. Ian's instincts screamed at him to raise his arms to catch the giant paw. Both of his gems acted in response to the danger and lent Ian their strength. Grond's gem of power massively boosts his strength while his defensive gem protects nullifies the force carried by the dragon's paws, allowing Ian to keep his poise. The ground shatters but Ian doesn't. He grits his teeth as he struggles to keep the paw at bay even with this boost."Rrrrrraaaaagh!" he forces the offending limb to the side, causing another shockwave as the dragon's paw slams down to the ground beside him instead.
